Personally I thought Simm and Wingfield were the pick. Simm scored 3 but 1 was disallowed for crossing in midfield I think by Dodd? He put a lovely one handed pass out of the back for Nisbets opening try, got tackled by 3 Bradford players a meter short under the posts after a 60m run cutting through the defence which was scored from on the next play, kicked 1 from 1 from the touch line and bullied his opposite edge defence. Wingfield was solid and tough all game in defence and never took a backward step, he was great linking play and shows a good pair of hands and a footballer. He played at 13 in that game after playing 9 most of last season as I remember and though he looks very good at 9, 13 could be a great position for him due to his overall game skills. Dodd at 7 looks to have good potential and will get better with more games at that level, looks to have pace, pity he didnt take his kicking boots with him. Nash was sharp around the ruck at 9 and tackled above his size in the middle. Both wingers made plenty of meters carrying and defended well.

Any news on how Joe Sharratt is progressing.?
I have to disagree, every time Welsby got involved he was either too strong or skilful for the Bulls. It was clear that even at 17 yo he was a class above the rest.
Encouraging to see some the size of some of the young props coming through, a couple of those interchange forwards should develop nicely.
Our u19's are very , very important , it has been said many times , but this season it is so true :- there are no easy games in Super League.
Holbrook seems a sensible man {for an Aussie anyhow) so he knows we must rotate . He seems to rate young Welsby very highly . What is Welsby's best position .

Academy got a big win over london, before the season it was expected that the academy would maybe struggle this year with losing alot of top age forwards last year an being a very young team this year but i was very impressed.
Josh simm 2nd yr , strong as an ox in center, great feet an pace.
Jack welsby 2nd yr,full back started all sts set well really dangerous runner linked well with half backs.
Lewis dodd 1st yr. Scrum half, seemed to be the organiser, got the nice mix of a passing game an also a running threat with a step and pace.
Some young forwards who will come on over the next few years.
Just noticed there are video highlights on saints website, domthey do this for each home game, never noticed it before
Apparently a few NRL clubs have enquired about Lewis Dodd. Very highly rated within the game.
No4 was Nico Rizzelli him and Welsby top class
Simm No3
Simm looks as though he has put a bit more timber on this season, Josh still has that good footwork like his grand dad who played for Saints. I'm almost sure Josh came into the club as a half back because of his rugby brain.
Those highlights are the first I've seen of Josh Simm - he looks the business.
Yeah, Simm looks to have some potential there.
