Weren't the 70's & 80's teams bankrolled by the old ICI?

RFL have given them the OK tonight, 12 points deduction and are free to play on Sunday.

Wonder how many players they have managed to keep from their squad. Lost 2 youngsters who signed for Leeds today, that's it I think.

Wouldn't be surprised if that was the club's choice. Three chunky contracts (I'd think Inu biggest), and the insolvency gave them the opportunity to get them off the books. I've not followed Widnes that closely but none of these 3 seem to have offered excellent value, given the lack of headlines about them.

Inu certainly hasn’t. Thought he was potentially a great signing for Catalan when he first came over but he’s gone rapidly downhill

Don't thin Wellington has played much, but Taganta looked OK v Toronto. Inu constantly 'flatters to deceive' IMO.

It seems to be more fan based, so like Salford money will be tight with smaller squads! I would have thought Gelling would be a big contract wage to pay?

He should of been a good signing but looked lazy and uninterested.

He fell off his last year at Cats. Before that I thought he was a good player.

Always looked at least half a stone overweight to me. He had the talent to be a cracking player.

Yeah, thought he`d be top contract, odd there`s no mention of him though ?
Always rated him, would have liked to seen him a Saints, wild card and unpredictable but not a disruptive type, has all the assets, if his head and enviroment is right he could go well for a club.

Agreed. A very 'un-wi*an' player, and one I couldn't dislike. Especially when playing other centre was that bum Sarginson to aim the hate at

Webbo I know of your obvious and much vaunted hate of Wigan. I cannot help but respect and dare I say it admire Lockers and Williams and they are hometown boys, same with Tommy L though he`s a Pacific boy.
However I am with you on Sarginson, Micky Mac (I know the`re not wigan) when they were there the brothers Tomkins even though I think Sam was a great player.

I think Shirley is a proper quality player, great rugby brain, can totally control a game, tough as team, superb ball handler, leads by superb example. But he's a cheapshot thug, and typical piescum. Can't stand him.

Come to think of it not much time for Powell, Clubb, Burgess, Manfreidi and of course Ben, who has nothing going for him as he is also Welsh and cannot sing.
