Default Batchelor Loaned Back to York

The thread title pretty much says it all ... just a month to get some game time.

Time will tell, it will help him, as you say, with proper game time. A young player with bags of potential, it's just a matter of time before the big time for this lad.

    I wish him well,

I have high hopes for Joe and really hope he gets some decent opportunities this year. Looked really good playing for York last year, albeit at a lower standard, and has shown a great attitude and willingness to learn since we signed him. Think him and James Bentley will go well for us given the opportunities.

Anyone any ideas why he was not loaned to Leigh instead?

Saints have made what seems to be some potentially shrewd signings in the likes of Bentley and Batchelor - that could pay dividends if they blossom into quality squad members for future years to come. If any of them turn out to be close to the level of Walmsley - then we're quids in.
With these lower league signings and players coming through our system - there's a good crop of youngsters on the verge of first team.

If we continue in the same vein, continue to retain our top players and add a smattering of establish quality / star players from - we're in for some good times. Now it's just a matter of peaking when it matters and getting the winning trophies instinct back

There is a limit on how many dual reg players a team can have. Not sure how many Leigh have apart from the ones we have sent. Loaning him back to York for a month will garantee him game time.

It may well have been written into the transfer deal that York get first dibs if we choose to loan him out.

What happens if York play Leigh in the next month or so? We could have Batchelor and Douglas belting each other! That would be ridiculous and another flaw in the dual-reg set up. Would make sense if only one team could have Saints players, but this is RL and logic usually doesn't apply.

Not seen much of him, seems to have good rep. But at 24 do they know where to play him. At this age he should be kicking on. Hope its just a case of too many fit players and not second thoughts

Wonder what’s happening with Adam Swift? Another good player who can’t get a first team spot at the moment. No talk of him going out on loan?

So difficult for him to break in, needs game time to get match fit and when his chance comes he needs to take it

Only then we will know if he is right for us or not

I would imagine we need him. we don't seem to have the same depth of cover in the 3/4s.
