According to Twitter @johnnyddavidson the 1st round attendances we’re down by 69 fans from last year. I know it all depends about fixtures etc, but considering the RFL/SL went for a big games launch it seems it did not work. Not being negative but was surprised more fans were not attending this year.
Humans are more concerned with having than being.

Not defending RFL/SL, but maybe the weather had an impact on attendances?

Catalans playing away and London playing at home won't have helped. London being in the top flight is going to mean a 2-3k hit on aggregate attendances compared to last year every time they're at home. I don't think it's actually that bad an effort given the weather.

But conversely this season we should see an increase in Leeds’ attendances with the new ground when they get to play there. This should counter balance the London factor.
