Walmsley has confirmed on social media that he was finally cleared to return to action on Friday.
Great news. I bet he can't wait for the season to start and to rip in after a frustrating 9 months. We badly missed him at the end of the year.

Big relief for all, can't wait to see him get it right next time and flatten Chris Hill.

Good luck Alex I hope everything goes well for you health wise .
Think we should give the club some credit too. In days gone by we'd have had him back before the playoffs. They've been very patient with him and done the right thing. Hopefully both are rewarded after a really frustrating 9 months for both.
Amazing news! Great boost for all.
That situation reminded me of Paul "Buffer" Forber advised to hang up his boots because of a serious neck injury but carried on, ended up at Salford later and stopped the Goons 8 year challenge cup winning run by destroying the wigoon pack. So if Walmsley can destroy the wigoon pack in our first game that will do for me.
Great news for the club but more for Alex and the fans. Great early Christmas present ☃️
Great news...But we should also be prepared to give him more time if his head isn't quite there yet. Fingers crossed that he's 'good to go' there too, but we should cut him some slack if he's a bit quiet to begin with.
Great news for player and club. Possibly our best 'new signing' for this season. Hope you hit the ground running.
It's a pretty fearsome pack we've developed. Out of nowhere it looks like we may have one of our best packs since 2006, but that will ultimately depend on whether Lees and Ashworth are able to maintain/improve the standard they set late last year. We should have a good platform to play off in 2019.
I still think Taia has plenty to offer. He did struggle a bit in the latter part of the season but I put that down the general disjointedness of our play as much as anything else.
I rewatched the 2017 magic game v hull fc he was absolutely outstanding that day. A dynamic no nonsense prop

We are not fearsome Dux, if Alex can get back to his level pre-injury, with Thommo and the young lads we are a very good rugby playing pack.
We need a dog, Sonny, Vila, Scully, even KC has been voted on Rugby AM hardest players in the top five of most opposition packmen, his tackle on a stood up man around the knees(cannon ball now banned) he perfected and did for many players with it. As much as I admire Robes who is outstanding, he does not strike fear into opponents neither do the others.
We need a headcase fed on raw meat all week.
