However I’m not sure how you can disagree that it’s his own fault. You try and start a fight with a bouncer then you’re risking getting a bit of a beating.
Proper security staff know where to draw the line. They don’t need to prove themselves. They diffuse they don’t aggravate. On the other and he is just a kid with a lot to learn a prone to make errors of judgement just like all kids.

I can’t see how he deserved this outcome at all I’m afraid

    Totally this Pasty!

The level of violence in response is totally disproportionate to the level apparent initially.
It's like a feeding frenzy! I'm appalled also at those taking delight in it to the extent that they filmed it and by the crowd baying in the background. Bread and Circuses! What a terrible indictment of society that the pleasure the crowd got completely blinded them to the fact that a young lad was prone and unconscious. Thank God he's recovered.

Although all the concern was with Joe, do we know how his friend Leon Cooper is, he took a lot of hits and was wondering if he has suffered any after effects.

They always do and sadly they usually win the appeal.

"Created by section 3 of the Public Order Act 1986 which provides: (1) A person is guilty of affray if he/she uses or threatens unlawful violence towards another and his/her conduct is such as would cause a person of reasonable firmness present at the scene to fear for his personal safety."

IIRC, affray is a more serious charge than common assault so it's seriousness should not be underestimated.

It's the bouncers who are in real trouble though, and I imagine the court will view the fact that they have been charged against the fact they were in a position of responsibility as an aggravating factor in the case.

Along with the fact they left the two lads on the floor without calling for an ambulance.

I hope they all get sent down.

Whats the chances of that? Probably a slap on the wrist and community service or a suspended sentence.

The starting point for sentencing of GBH crimes tends to be high so it's less likely the bouncers will get a minor sentence. In fact the CPS will probably use some of the aggravating factors in the case (e.g Abuse of power and/or position of trust) to push for a custodial sentence. The bouncers will need a very good solicitor that is for sure.

Two of them are 40 and 41 this will not reflect well on them in court, I would expect a custodial sentence to be passed on the main perpetrators.

Not according to the report linked to above:

Mr Sharratt, who had played for Lancashire Academy against Australian Schoolboys hours earlier, was taken to hospital after being injured.

Greater Manchester Police said he was "now recovering at home".

Wish him well in his recovery, I do not profess to have any knowledge on his injuries or the protocol for brain bleeds, but I think it would be difficult for any surgeon to sign him off fit to play after the Nick Blackwell saga.
