Just curious what a wrestling facility is.
I would have thought you just need a couple of mats and a floor.
Paid for by the ransacking of Orrell union club???
They have lost there "King Wrestler" in Bateman and O'Loughlin will miss games so I don't know which players will be WWF trained standard.
But equal potential to be found in a ditch behind the wheel of a car, with Columbian marching powder round his schnozzle, the blood oozing from his cuts up at around 10% abv, and bruises all over his knuckles where he's been going around punching people.
But, like, he has *issues* so he'll just get a 2 game ban and a 75p fine.
Why we are speaking of our rivals, told today they are just about to get Jarrod Sammut over the line for 2019. One year deal I’m told.
I hope they do
Lets not forget Saints employed a wrestling coach as well in the early days that is became Fashion! All Teams do everything to slow the play the ball down, which ruins the game! which is all down to coaches tactics, no team is 'Saints' when it comes to this!
Wrestling has been part of Rugby league for as long as I can remember. Rileys gym in Wigan was used by many teams including Saints under Ian Millward. What the game is missing are ball handling props the likes of Brian McTigue, John Tembey and Derek Pyke etc. They would have love three men in the tackle and then as if by magic the ball would appear right into the hands of a running back row forward or quick halfback.
It has, but I would suggest that up until the late noughties wrestling was used as a way of improving one-on-one tackling technique. It was employed to make rugby players better at bringing their opponent to the ground. Now it is used to manipulate the ball carrier into a position where they can’t play the ball quickly. It’s an important difference (and I by no means suggest that only Wigan do it).
