Well in Tommy!!!!!!!!! Superb achievement!!!!!
Amazing news for Tommy. Has been an excellent player for us over many years and performed consistently ever since breaking into the first team. Couldn't be more pleased for the lad. Credit to all the hard work he's put in and the passion he has for his rugby, his club, his teammates and his country - he was obviously emotional in his MOM performance interview after the last match and i imagine he is very proud of this achievement too!
Great achievement and well deserved.
Good write up on him by the beeb, easy to forget what he's been through with injuries...

Fantastic news. Well done Tommy!!
screaming in the family corner, scaring the kiddies
Outstanding news for Tommy, Saints and the British game. Please let’s give him some ball next season
The write up on the BBC is mainly composed of quotations from Jon Wilkin. It’s an inspiring piece from a fellow professional. By the way, even the Guardian has the story as a headline in the online paper this morning.
Well done Tommy. A reflection on him as a person to have come through those injuries and actually become a better player than ever. Such a nice guy too with no edge to him. Will chat with you like a mate. A real feather in the cap for him and the club going into next season
Fantastic news. A great player, clubman, and person. Well done, and well deserved.
Some great individual accolades for our club.
Ben Barba.............................Man of Steel Award
James Roby...........................Player of the Year
Tommy Makinson...................Golden Boot Winner
Great news for Makinson but very disappointed with some of the dumb comments from people with high profiles within the game, especially from over here.

I'm chuffed for Tommy and he deserves a lot of credit the way he's played this year BUT best player in the world?? I'd pick Roby before him and that's not even looking at any other clubs?
This isn't the "Best player in the world award" it is the best international performances in the last 12 months award - I don't know when it changed (a few years ago I suspect as Shaun Johnson won it under the same criteria in 2014).
I would prefer it to include all games but it currently doesnt
This is a win win for me. Of course it’s a Saints player. But that aside taking in the criteria for the award I can’t see how he does not derserve it. Yes there needs to be more international games but that’s not TM fault. He has won it for his outstanding playing skill. But it helps RL in this county and worldwide that he is a young good looking player who is articulate and good in front of camera. He is a great advert/poster boy for the sport.
The other plus is anything that pees off some Aussies can only be good.
Humans are more concerned with having than being.
I believe the criteria changed this year and most people commenting negatively sound like they don't know it has
Yeah I've seen that
It's like me saying under the old criteria
"I can’t believe the best player in the world is a person I’ve never seen play,”
"I watched the highlights of the origin games yesterday and just saw him score a couple of tries.
"That’s all I’ve ever seen of him and he’s the best player in the world? I find it ridiculous."
So you've never seen him play but he's not worthy?
I like the new criteria, give someone dally m if they've had a good nrl/origin. Have this for best international performance. If someone from Scotland or France had a wow of a world cup or series it gives them recognition not just the same origin players every year
The timings need looking at though for me, it should be after all the international games
