    Default Swift

    What's the word?

In the press , it stated a full contact session today , would determine if he went under the knife friday
or played on till the end of the season.

Could be delayed to allow Makinson to play centre and Swift to come in

Without Morgan, having Swift available to play wing and move Makinson to centre is an improvement on Costello at centre.

Agreed. A quick player with fresh legs at this stage of the season could be helpful too

Makinson is rubbish at centre and putting swift outside him is double rubbish, just my opinion though.

He had a great game as an international centre and is much better than Costello in that position as well.

So you’d prefer Costello there who I think, without wanting to sound harsh, seems to be at fault for a try whenever he’s played?

I agree that Costello is at the moment not the answer to the centre spot when someone needs to fill in. He has had limited game time so a bit unfair to judge, but IMO he has not pushed on. But Swift not being fit we don’t really have an option. I hope he proves (Costello) me wrong later today.

Costello needs a big game at centre today. Otherwise worrying signs for the rest of the season.

Does anyone know how Swift went on ? Did he come through the session ok ?
A very able winger who would be useful if we get an injury.

I would be interested to know, but I think if it was good news we would have heard.

Obviously not a centre but does a reasonable job given all his inexperience and errors in game reads, might see him in his natural position at full back next season when we pick up injuries.

True, Makinson always gives everything and deserves more respect than that.
You might get that comment from another club supporter, but a Saints supporter should know better. He has never let the club down, whatever he has been asked to do.

Definitely not criticising his commitment and effort, but he is not a centre.

I like Morgan. But for his sake, I hope the coaching staff ask him to play with the aid of head gear. I know not everyone is comfortable using them, but for the good of his career and more importantly, his health, I think he needs to consider using one,

Must be honest when he went off V Wigan I thought that would be the end of his career. I'm glad to see he will be able to carry on, and I think your suggestion of headgear should be a must.

If you remember he struggled quite a bit early doors with our climate, might feel more comfortable with the colder nights if he wears head gear, kill two birds with one stone.

I'm a fan of Swifty. Decent finisher. Guilty of the occasional blooper but generally sound.
I prefer T Mak on the wing or at FB. For me he just falls foul of running laterally when he plays in the centre.

I am a fan of his. Can't think of any that have cost us big time.

Usually he drops the ball twice in the first 25 minutes then doesn't drop it al tall after that

I doubt we'll see Morgan next season, but if fit, is better than Costello for the remainder.
