Don’t want to sound like a moaner but it’s a pet peeve of mine when people just post links without even mentioning the main facts in the article. At least copy and paste the tweet or write a sentence.
    Just a small annoyance sorry.

A game at Anfield is all very well, so long as they're not competing with us for one!
It states 'high profile' so hopefully it will be for something too big for our ground.

You would hope it's too big for us, but I would sooner watch at a full TWS than an half empty Anfield.

it wasn't half empty against New Zealand if I remember rightly, and this is a World Cup game, fans turn out for these games.

Potentially they'll be looking to host the final, probably too big for anything else. Maybe a Semi Final double header

In the article above, it sounds like the aim of 2021 is to have more games in the major northern cities. London is mentioned too, so I imagine Wembley and the Olympic Stadium will get a look in.

I read somewhere that Middlesbrough Council are putting together and Bristol too. It has the potential to be a great tournament, if they have got their arse in gear and promote it properly.

They are aiming for 750k supporters attending over the tournament; nearly a 100% increase on 2013. So one of the reasons why they are using Anfield and Elland Road this year.

Before the 2013 tournament, was there any planning 3 years in advance? I'm only young so don't remember much going on at the time, but it can't have actually been this prepared surely?
