    Seems to be a positive side effect of VAR that you've got to commit to attack a bit more because you've always got the risk of giving a penalty away for an innocuous tug at that other end of the pitch. There must have been more pens already than in most World Cups and we're only half way through

    I don’t know much about football but it looked like that final pass always let them down. Created plenty chances but couldn’t finish them. Man on man it looked like Croatia ran rings around them in the second half.

    Did much better than expected with a squad devoid of any world-class talent. Southgate came out of it with a lot of credit. In previous tournaments we'd have gone out vs Colombia, who were also a better side than us
