About 6 tweets about it within the last 24 hours. Doesn't look to be anything in it.

Started with the League Express preview saying that there was some re-signing (Dom Manfredi) news that was misinterpreted as "resigning news" ie Wane.

Lots of unhappy players mate, especially amongst the younger players. There's a huge pay gap between the "clique" and the rest by all accounts.

No worries Greenwood will help bridge the gap ; )

Interesting as this was one of the issues Pollard wanted to stamp out when he took over. I’m sure i recall reading something about him complaining the overall balance of the squad was all wrong (pay wise)

Wane off at end of season to Scotland RU as performance coach.

I’d have liked him to get the England job. We can all say what we want as Saints fans but the reality is the guys passion can’t be questioned. Sure Wigan are struggling at the minute but if we played them tomorrow I’d still expect a close and tense game. Though I’m happy be proven wrong I still think the Pies will be strong contenders for Old Trafford too.

I have criticised some of his tactics and comments in the past, but good luck to him.

Wigan have punched above their weight for the last 5 or 6 seasons, mainly down to his drive and motivational leadership.

I admire him for taking a relatively poor set of players to grand finals and Wembley cup finals, regardless of rivalry.

Surprised in a way that he is going into Union, thought he might have sought out a role in League.

These jobs are eaay money. No responsibility. He won’t be blamed for losses or style of play, that all rests with the coaches.hell just earn a big wedge for swanning round the world doing very little. He has seen Edwards and Farrel making a career out of it, so wants a piece of the action too.

There is only Real Money either in the NRL or Union, say best of luck the guy! not a favourite of mine, but respect what results he has got.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Wane back in RL as England coach when Bennett leaves the job.

When can he start ? I'm not sure what is tactics would be like with an international squad to choose from, but at least we would be fired up for the games. Having said that, though I didn't agree with some of Bennett's selections last week, you can't criticise the result he got.

It would be a big change for him, massively different jobs. I’ve found that the detail of the tactical/coaching side of Rugby Union is significantly more in depth and varies so much more (even though he’s only been coaching one part of the game) than Rugby League. To go from the intricacies and the tactical side of that job to coaching Wigan in Rugby League and the difference in qualities that job would need... total opposites.

This. My thoughts exactly. A better coach than people give him credit for.....gets the best out of the players he has
