Luke Gale poor defending. Fair enough he had Toamalolo running at him but it was still a poor effort.

Your only good as your worst tackler. Gale and Brown poor. Elliot Whitehead outstanding for me. Great game. Glad Tonga gave their wonderful fans something to hope for. England great most of the game until the above two got exposed one on one.

If that last play went upstairs would it have been a try? Is their more emphasis on the ball carrier to maintain possession down under?? I imagine SKY would have awarded a try had it been a super league game.

That would have been awful losing at the death again in a semi final, that was poor from McGilvray he's had a superb tournament but just keep hold of the ball in that situation, stick it up your jumper.

Deffo would have been given in SL but it's like all this fingertip control grounding the ball or brushing it with your arm. You should have to ground the ball properly in control of it in the same way you should carry it a bit stronger.

I personally think the right decision was made. It was just a despairing tackle by Whitehead. There was not intent to strip the ball. It seemed like a loose carry.

Whitehead my M.O.M think he played the full 80 mins must have topped the tackle and carry count. His last seconds arm grab saved the game for us.

Don,t think England were poor the last 10 mins, the Tongans just upped there game, Gale is a worry for next week he needs to play his best game in the tournament for the final.

This game was a great advert for Rugby League.

That would have made a great final . Neither side deserve to lose You can have football or union , but if there is a more exciting team game in the world I have never see , that was entertainment at its very best .

Tackler grab his arm, no contact with the ball, clear on the replay.

He doesn't touch the ball imo so i agree it was a despairing tackle and no try

Are you talking about Luke Gale? Or Jermaine McGilvary?

Tonga were robbed, a shit decision like that in the final seconds, and Not referring it to the video ref, for me is UTTER bullshit and puts the game in a very poor light.
Against the Aussies Tonga would not get within 20 points. England 35, our main showpiece is a severe embarrassment on this decision.

Interestingly, someone has pointed out that final episode of the game so two of the same incidents: McGilvary dropping the ball and Fifita - both were knocked out accidentally by players trying to make the tackle but the ref was consistent with both decisions so can’t ask for anything more.

Well Whitehead saved us, but Widdop was outstanding, after 22 years we are in a World Cup Final, a monumental task awaits us, and they are still hurting from when the Kiwis won the cup in Australia against them so they will be on fire next week.

    Good luck England.

Nearly had our pockets picked! I’ve just watched it and the Tongans just threw it all in right at the end, kitchen sink and all. It was just another gear, throwing it around looking for a miracle.

    Reminds me of another team.......
