Another Widnes reject
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.
I wouldn't pay any credence towards any transfer rumours at the moment. The last thing Justin Holbrook will be doing at the moment is drawing up transfer targets when he hasn't even met the players he currently has.
WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF POOR BEN FLOWER?!
I was never that keen on his brother Greenall.
Was on Saints books and we released him to let him join Widnes.
Good Young second row. If anyone at Widnes is worth a contract it is him.
I could agree with you but then we would both be wrong.
Good player, had some decent performances last season, not seen much of him this season. I think he can play hooker as well as second row.
Nominated for the Super League Young Player of the Year in 2016.
Whitley is the epitome of what we don't need.
Ok he does put a shift in - but he's not big enough or fast enough to break a defence. We have Knowles doing the same job and far better in my opinion.
We're already carrying too many steady workhorses - we need match winners who can turn a game.
Matty is from Earlstown and a big Saints fan
I mentioned about a month ago that he's a player I'd like us to look at and someone else said that Warrington were also after him.
NEVER WRITE OFF THE SAINTS
Surely any rumours are just that though? Won't Holbrook want time to evaluate the squad and then highlight what players he wants to bring in?
Does seem strange that we would bring anyone in or get rid of anyone now before our new coach has even set up home here. Getting Holbrook to come quickly was mainly due to him being able to assess the club and who we need and don't. I doubt he would sanction someone else making those decsions.
But nothing surprises me with Saints anymore.
Humans are more concerned with having than being.
Do our coaches not have any input into signings? Do they all come from Rush and Eammon?
As I said on another thread the coach has had very little say for decades.
Some like Murphy have had a major say, some like Millward & Cunningham have had involvement while most have had none.
Do you think anyone with even a small understanding of the game would only have one centre in a squad like when Talau left? Or sign players to play out of position like Hohia and Laffranchi?
If he's a replacement for Peyroux then I'd take Whiteley. Not spectacular but a good workhorse, and I doubt he's on big money
