    Default another out on loan.

St Helens youngster Jack Ashworth is set to head to Leigh on loan.

The 21-year-old, who can play second row or centre, is being allowed out despite the pressure mounting on coach Keiron Cunningham.

Should be getting game time instead of Peyroux.

Couple of Cumbrian (Barrow) mates are also saying Lewis Charnock is a class act and is now playing stand off at the moment, another young player who didn't, let the saints team down and we,ve ended up with Tommy Lee.

I'm sure we'd all rather see him in the team ahead of Peyroux but given how unlikely this is with the current coach, a loan move to a super league club seems like the best thing for all at the moment.
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.

I work with one of his teammates who says he's excellent at that level, really rates his kicking game.

Remains to be seen if he'd of made it in super league but certainly deserved a chance.

    Can't disagree.

Thing is, even if we had Joynt & Gilmour as our first choice 2nd rowers, I'd still be wanting the coach to give promising young back rowers some games, both to give them experience and to keep our first choice players fresh.

Cunningham just keeps picking certain players without any semblance of merit, even after they've been sh*t, whilst criticising certain others (usually youngsters) for doing nothing/little wrong.

Garbage tactics aside, this is disgracefully poor man-management

Having dragging the Dominator off after twenty minutes never to return, i hope we've seen the last of him for a while

Nothing this bloke does surprises me.

Ashworth is much to good for reserve team rugby. Trouble is if he gets to play every week at Leigh it will be by by Saints.
It should be Peyroux out on loan.

Who else do we have out on loan?

I'd rather Ashworth was getting game time in SL than in the reserves; i'm sure he feels the same. As soon as next season there should be a place in the 17 for him if he proves himself.

It's unusual to loan a player out to a club that's above us in the league. ;-)

I thought Ashworth was OK. A loan spell may do him good, hope it os only a loan. It also begs the question what happens with Richardson now. We have Smith coming back and JW as KC's preference for back up.

He'll be another on the scrap heap in the eyes of Cunningham. It's bloody criminal leaving him to rot while we suffer with captain coffee at scrum half

Just before the season start Richardson was marked to be back up for when Fages gets injured, I should imagine that's still the case.
Smith + Richardson in theory looks more workable than Fages + Richardson + Wilkin

If he does get game time when Fages is injured/rested then I'm OK with that. It's the thought that we could have seen the last of Richardson, and down the line if Fages is out we end up with a Smith wilkin combo.

Luke Walsh rates him quite highly in this weeks League Express. He feels he should be given more game time than he's currently getting and feels he's got a great kicking game to mature.

From what I've seen of Leigh this year they're playing a similar style to us but with more aggressive forwards.

The Catalan game was the first time Saints pack played with any fire in their belly

But KC knows it all about rugby so he probably knows more about No7's than walsh

Another baffling decision by the coaching team. Peyroux must have some seriously incriminating photos.

Seriously the lad must be one of the worse second row I have ever seen. No agression, can't tackle, positional play useless. How much longer can he justify putting on the shirt. Then he sends a young lad out on loan. Lets hope he picks up valuable experience and comes back a better player.

Exactly Leigh have much better performing backrowers than what we have, his pecking order to get a game at Leigh could be worse.
An injury to Peyroux or Wilkin and he could be in the 17.

I assume when a club takes a player on loan they pay their wages.
So Leigh were most probably happy to pay for a young lad but not willing to pay for a " Superstar " ;-)
