Default NRL 2017 - Game Discussion, Spoilers

Well as it all starts again today with Cronulla V Bronco's I thought I would start an new thread. Mods can we make it a sticky again please? Obviously those not hoing to Melbourne will still be able to watch, comment and count the days untill your programme arrives

I'm not sure the Sharks can hit the heights of last year but we'll soon see, I was wrong about them for most of last year

I was watching James Graham on NRL 360 ( he is part of the captains panel so will feature each week). He is picking the Roosters to go well this year. I will be going through another up and down season with the NZ Warriors but you never know could be our year this time ( ha ha)

If anyone is contemplating a Premier Sports subscription to watch NRL this season there is a promo code to get the first two months for £1. Promo code is PREMIER4 and the offer expires on the 14th. No activation charge, and then two months in it reverts to the standard monthly charge.

I was impressed this morning by how professional and quick the video refs are (the bunker). None of this 5 minute 20 different looks nonsense!

Watching Souths I'm sure Maguire has been very lucky his one dimensional coaching hasn't cost him his job

A nightmare start. Losing Inglis didn't help and already without Reynolds, but West Tigers looked the better side. Not sure why Souths signed Robbie Farah- Cook needs to be doing the majority of the minutes out of dummy half, he offers so much more.

Not the best of games to watch so far, bar a few moments of magic from Milford for Brisbane in game 1 and Tedesco today.

Hopefully we will see better tomorrow. Some good games on paper. And I think the Roosters will be back to the best this year and be a force again. North Queensland will also be there or thereabouts.

    Regards,

    STEVO

Not sure what Maguire was doing keeping Inglis on the field today, but don't want it to distract from a really encouraging Wests performance. I fancy them to be dark horses for the 8 and I was really happy to see them scoring some really nice tries. I thought Cronulla-Brisbane was a decent game, and Cronulla looked alot better than what we saw at Wigan. Canterbury-Melbourne just became a slug-fest in the rain, which was a shame because I love those games at Belmore and it didn't live up to the hype.

The weather has played its part in the first three games, but I think we're set for a good season in the NRL.

Cowboys v Raiders - great game with a grandstand finish. I really fancy the Raiders to go well this season.

Fantastic game for round 1 and what a finish as you say.

I was very impressed by the Roosters in their game against the Titans. They looked great in the first half- Pearce & Keary look to be a strong combination in the halves and with Latrell Mitchell & Blake Ferguson in the centres, the strong pack too, as I say I think they will be back to challenging again this year.

Who knows what we will get from the Warriors tomorrow, but it will be good to see RTS back at least.

    Regards,

    STEVO

Warriors v Knights - another good game, great to see RTS back on the field; devastating in broken play, and made 200 metres plus today. I thought Hoffman went well too.

Saw the last 20 mins. He was solid if unspectacular, although given he wont have trained with the team much he did ok.

He seemed to be used more as a dummy runner, every time the ball came near him they went wide or went right.

Solid in defence, commentators seemed happy with him in a first run out and spoke well of him.

May change when they use him in moves and he gets more game time though and he's tested more thoroughly. Game was gone by HT, and he played more in the second half.

They did mate and they might struggle this week too. I think they tried to play a more structured game and it failed miserably.

Still think they'll have a say though

I've got them, the Eels and the Roosters.....................but Penrith are the major outlay and I mean major!

This Roosters V Bulldogs is a great game. The Tupou try was superb.
