Could Carney play at #13? Didn't he play a few games at loose forward in Australia?

Quality player and the potential to be the best player in the competition.

However also a good chance he'll miss half the games through injured, or causing some issues at the club

Seeing as he didn't get many offers or it doesn't appear that way he might have come very cheap so it may turn out a master stroke.

I meant for Salford at #13 with Lui and Dobson in the halves. Could have potential.

Salford certainly impressed me tonight. A very entertaining game to watch!

I'm not sure Carney will play at #13, I think he will start in the halves, but perhaps it's an option as you say. And with the visa now granted, it won't be long until we find out. Salford have some more talent still to come back into that side as well, especially in Ben Murdoch-Masila.

How much has Gareth O'Brien improved his game? He really has developed into a quality SL player- you would have to say he is up there with the most dangerous full backs in the competition now. Great goal kicker too.

    Regards,

    STEVO

I got shot down a few seasons back for saying we should sign O'Brien as a squad player. I bet he ends up at Wigan.

GOB was standout last night and I don't think he missed a shot on goal. Some difficult kicks. We may have missed a trick. We'll just have to wait and see.

Always thought GOB was one we let slip through the net. He was great in the Wigan win a few years back in probably the last exciting Superleague game I ever saw. I even think Stuart Howarth played in that game but it was still a cracker! Remember GOB getting clobbered a few times but still being awesome.

I think most of us liked GOB when he played for us but would you take him over a fit Johnny Lomax? He also seemed to get knocked out every other game!

Lomax is a brilliant player, and his courage is beyond doubt. The problem is, it looks like he is picking up one injury after another. Have we seen the beat of him? I hope not. I rated GOB when he was with us, but as stated he was unlucky with injuries. Skills were never in doubt.

I think GOB is a good pro but nothing more than that. I think he just lacks the physical gifts that make a top player.

Slightly off topic but related to Salford last night. I thought Tasi did more work in one game than he did in a season for us.

Perhaps he was being used on the wrong side of the pitch at LP?

I had the very same thought.

He may cause issues and miss some games but Salford don't get to sign players of his quality often so those clubs have to take risks at times, it's a gamble that could go either way, good luck to them, I want to see those players hit their straps at the top level
