It's no coincidence that our upturn in form (and Walmsley's) came when we not only started to play a slightly more expansive game, but also began at last to make more use of dummy runners and second-phase. There's still far too much one-out rugby and that fecking annoying (and totally ineffective) inside drop-off pass, but it's an improvement.
Percival and Lomax are the key to everything we do with the ball. When one of them doesn't play we are pushed into playing more centrally because opposite defences just number up on the other. We scored 40 points against Cas last week without Percival which was hugely impressive IMO but his return will absolutely be the key to how we use the ball. Lomax has thrown two world class passes against Cas and Hull and are two examples of why he is possibly the best 1 in the comp right now IMO.

The drop off is frustrating but I can see why. When we have Fleming and Peyroux there, neither are out and out centres so we are looking for a misread or a kick to get over the line. That drop of to a back rower is normally done to set up for the next play where we shift the ball and as I say, hope for a misread. When Percival and Lomax play we see less drops offs because we have some strike out there and can actually threaten teams rather than hoping for a defensive error.

Amor has been magnificent for us considering how much work he's had to get through.

Look forward to reading your posts tez they are always good.

That drop off we do can be for a number of reasons, we dont do it hoping to score from that play. As youve mentioned above. It could be used to get to a certain point on the pitch (if you look its done around the same area) they talk alot with john wells about 6/4 split and getting to certain areas of the field. You could also use it to target a player, or get you in a good position for a kick. The game has changed, theres more subtle game plans these days.
