I thought they'd have wanted more than £300k.

Correct. If we were willing to pay £80k for Burns we should definitely be in with a bid for Hardaker. Even though he says he wants to go to Aus, will anyone over there actually want him?

I'd rather spend the money on a new coach.

Why is it either / or? The ambition of the club should be to improve all areas when the opportunities present themselves

In 1995 we shelled out for Newlove, then a couple of months later sacked Eric Hughes.

Lomax isn't a half though, we've been there and done that, it didn't work.

It was clear to see last night that we that we need an organising half and how much we missed Walsh's input. If, as rumoured, he's leaving at the end of the year then that needs to be the priority imo.

Been at it with one of the wingers missus if the rumours on the Leeds RL fans forum are to be believed. No idea who the other player involved is.

It will be either/or if the club don't have the finances to do it all.

Does anybody know Saints financial position at the moment?

A great talent who could do a job for us anywhere from 1-5, but given our current situation I think a persona such as his would only make the situation worse.

All I know is we need quality and he has it. We nearly went to the wall signing Newlove & Skulthorpe but it paid off. We have to dig deep and bring quality in NOW.

Perhaps we could bulk him up in the offseason and turn him into a centre come back rower.

I had a look at this quickly.

Seems Saints have about £800k in the bank, with an operating loss of just over £1 million for year ending October 2015

With this in mind, do we have the cash to give Leeds £300k? Do we have the cash to buy out Cunninghams 2 year contract?

Would love saints to sign him but they wont try as they lack the ambition if they did i dont think cunningham could manage him anyway .

We should be in for him, we all know Warrington, Wigan and even Salford will be looking at their finances now to see if they can make an offer.

If we don't start recruiting and competing with the other big clubs in the league we will become a mid table team very quickly.

However as he is quality and our policy is sign the rejected players from lower clubs then I'm afraid he's not a saints target.

He's going to the NRL. I think that's blatantly obvious as he is quoted as saying so
