Saints are looking at a Wigan winger. Josh Ganson has signed a 4 year deal for Wigan.

What positions do you think we need to fill and realistic targets for those positions?

Denny Solomona rumoured to be Wigans target now they failed miserably to get Carney - though I suspect that is only because they want to do a deal to get someone for Hampshire!

Centre, Halfback, a Backrow or two, and a Prop would be my shopping list (in priority order)

I agree with the backline needs strengthening, but if Wellington and or Spedding come through in the next 12 months then the centre spot will be sorted. Similarly, in the 2nd row, there is Ashworth and Knowles already playing in top grade and some good ones in the 19s who won't be too far off in the next couple of seasons. So personally I don't think they would be areas we should be looking to strengthen.

Rumoured that one of the options Saints are looking at for Centre is Stefan Ratchford.
Even though he's still under contract at Wire, apparently he's not too happy this year about being relegated to just a utility player brought in to cover injuries. When everyone's fit he struggles to even get a place on the bench

Even though kids are coming through, its always better for them to take a place off someone rather than given it and hoping they'll make it. Wellington and Ashworth should be used as "first backups" next year in case of injury imo, with them keeping their place if they rip it up.

Would be very happy with Ratchford, so long as KC can resist the urge to constantly move him around like TS does. Can't see Warrington letting him go though

I agree with this. If we are (unlikely I know) to let LMS and Wilkin leave, then we can't just replace them with kids coming through. Yes it would be nice, but then nearly all of our back row are under 22. We still need some experience there. I know people aren't too keen on signing Aussies if they're over a certain age, but someone like Glen Stewart who's now at Catalans would do wonders I feel. He's got big game experience and has been one of the best in his position for years. He's also helped transform Catalans defence.

Was laughed at for suggesting Ratchford first time around (Salofrd).
"Poor Core Skills" and not as good as Wheeler.

Has excelled at HB and FB. Now he has made is name in both positions
at another club we are interested in him but want to try him at centre.

    OK.

    OK.
I know more than a few Wolfs fans who think centre is Ratchfords best position ...

I would be absolutely amazed if Warrington considered selling him to us.

Maybe we have realised signing 'the next big thing' from Widnes isn't working

He'd be a great signing, however isn't he a huge Wigan fan? I heard he was nailed on to go there when his contract ends?

We was interested last year. I asked him at Haydock Park races about it and he laughed and said never say never to any club but he was enjoying it at Wire. I would imagine we will be interested if he became available but money talks and I am not sure where he would fit in at Wigan. Tomkins at 1 Gelling/Gildart have been good in the centres, Williams is a long term option at 6 and Bateman will be SOL replacement at 13
