SS pointed out what I was saying, just because a team goes down to 12 men doesn't mean they are going to lose.
Fastest player I ever saw. Did he ever win MoS? Just asking out of interest?

Offiah has constantly been embarrassing himself and Wigan since the final by his "Hohaia deserved a punch" nonsense. He's doing far more harm to Wigan than he is to us, because history is written by the victors. That, by the way, was us.
WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF POOR BEN FLOWER?!
offiah was a one trick pony, he scored most of his trys from kicks into open space. fast yes, but thats all he had.what the guy knows about rugby is minuscule
It's been 31 years, since 1974, we last won a major (trophy and) Andrew Johns and Natty (Nathan Wood), our two oldest players were born in 1974 so it's a little bit spooky,
There is a common trait in teams at this point in the season that they seem to sit back and wait for somebody to win the game for them. And we had too many of our players waiting for someone to win the game.
"interfacing at the ruck"
"winning the go-forward"
"i thought we won the collision"
Offiah was a genuinely great player when the word GREAT is overused. Simple proof was that the great Aussie teams of the era feared him.
But what he does show is that great players often make crap pundits. As to whether Saints won due to Flowers send off is totally irrelevant. The scoreboard gives the result and it does not carry artistic impression marks. In 10 years time when the result is viewed historically, there will not be an asterisk at the side of it saying that BF was sent off!
Further, how many teams in the past have risen to the task when a man down - I cite Bobby G sent off at Knowsley Road in the Challenge Cup poss 96/97. Wonder who that was against?
I have been a Saints fan for nearly 30 years and I've never been as terrified of what an opposition player could do to us as much as I was of Offiah back in the day. You look back at some of the tries he scored and some of them were incredible. The best out and out attacking winger I have seen in the flesh I reckon. When people say that he was just about speed it makes me laugh, because his footwork and his ability to run perfect angles was immense. I don't care about what he thinks about us or the game nowadays though.
