They look like a bunch of "Hookers" !
Ok. Great cause. Have no issue with the raising of money.
But. Why am I constantly told that woman want to be treated on merit/ talent and not on being sex objects, then a team of I assume to be strong willed woman resort to default, i.e. Getting their #### out to sell something. I bet if they hear me say 'they have a nice set of bums and breasts' I will be called sexist.
As I say it's great they are raising money, but really could they not be more original. Better than that bloody ice bucket challenge crap I guess.
Happy New year..from a very confused male...

There is a massive difference! Someone stripping off for pay is massively different from someone stripping off for a good cause. Massively different! If you can't appreciate the difference then I can't explain it to you. It's just massively different. And although I haven't seen all the pictures, they're apparently all as tastefully done as the ones in the article. So not only are the girls not earning a wage for showing their bits but they've only consented to having certain bits shown and those bits shown in a more subtle way than, say, your average porn mag would show them.
So if it's for charity and no money is made by the individuals it's ok?
Saying 'it's massively different' several times does not make you right. You have your view, which I respect, but disagree.
My point is woman can't have their cake and eat it. They bombard us with ' we dont want to be treated as just sex objects, etc', then off they go and use sex to sell a product, it matters not if its a charity or not. I personally like the product they have produced, but that's not my point. I just despair at the mixed messages some woman send. As I said if I was to say ' Wow what a great set of bums or breasts' I bet I would get slated by the very woman who took part in the photos.
Let's just agree to disagree. We will never change each other mind.

Ok. I am not talking about 40 years ago, and no I did not protest about that as I was only about 10 years old, and never seen the film.
Plus if I did the reply about the emancipation of woman etc, this would read like war and peace. I feel this debate will go no where in this format, as we are on opposite tracks. As said before we have different views re this and that's healthy.
Maybe I should have said nothing and just ogled their bits like everyone else.

Eh? The Calendar Girls were in their 50s and 60s when they posed for the calendar; the calendar wasn't created in the 1950s! The film was screened only a few years ago (Google it). So do you have a problem with women who are aged in their 50s and 60s showing off their bits for a charity calendar?
Where did I say I had a problem? I said I had not seen the film, or have any desire to watch it. Why do you think I should know about such trivia.
Don't get so angry. It's just a forum, where people share DIFFERENT views, if you don't agree with them, that's ok.
Have a nice new year.

"The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the kind. The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom." Danny Blanchflower.
