    Default Joe Seddon R.I.P.

I knew Joe very well , he was a nice man and worked very hard for the club for no financial reward for many years !

Very sad but I feel your post has a bit of an edge to it. Did Saints Directors not use to claim what are termed expenses? To be fair it all worked well until the town was pulverised in the late seventies. RIP.

Very sad to hear about Joe Seddon. Played bowls with Joe in the 1970's at Nalgo (now Unison) club. Once he got me tickets for a Saints match; that evening I dropped him from the bowls team.He gave me a knowing stare. You learn lessons in life from incidents like that.

Sorry , no there is "edge" in my statement , I'm pretty sure they did not claim any expenses .
The start of super league changed a Directors role , in that clubs were made to make paid appoitments for roles that
Directors carried out for nothing , and in some clubs that helped them to be more professional .
Having said that , there are not many solvent clubs now .
Anyway , from personnel experience I thought Joe was a gentleman !
