Just trying to remember back to the game, did Tompkins play? I cant remember him being on the field?
If he did, there was him, sargison and smith, not one of them looked like england quality to me.

The centre's had a good year, but he always steps off his left foot. Just wait for it and tackle him. Simples. How J Tomkins has been picked ill never know. Smith picked as we have no English half backs.
But then there breaks a yet more glorious day:
The saints triumphant rise in bright array;
The King of glory passes on his way.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
The only one of Wigan's England contingent who looked good enough was Burgess. Always threatening with ball in hand, made metres and was defensively solid. I think if there's any drop outs from the England squad Amor and Walmsley may be getting a phone call.
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.
It's no wonder, should the rfu come knocking at makinson's door, he'd be tempted.
How he's not in the squad, I'll never knows
I just don't get how Sarginson, Shenton and Charnley are in that squad ahead of Makinson and Percival.....plus that knob jockey Joel Tomkins is getting picked on there kids name!!!!
Before his switch to union Tomkins was a great option as a channel running back rower or centre, but since returning he obviously isn't fully fit after his back issue.
It does appear to be a bit strange that Saints have won LLS and Grand final, with 3 or 4 key players missing for a bulk of the season and still have no players in international squads.
Makinson and Amor should have been included, Jones, Walmsley and Swift looked like they had a chance earlier in the season and Percival has been outstanding over the last 6-8 weeks.
Still, whilst a load of Wigan lads travel down under for another six weeks, makinson et al will have their feet up
