Potentially nothing about building one and perhaps nothing about controlling one. If you were talking about playing in a successful side I would say everything.

Long having any kind of coaching role? Assuming he turned up? I dont think it would go well.

You seem to have a tendency towards people who have achieved great things on the field being given a free pass to grade A opportunities in a completely different role.

Wonder if any of the Bookies are offering odds? They usually get it right.

Quite an interesting list, just two Bookies involved but what surprises me that in a long list, no mention of Betts or Baloo. Nailed on for Cunningham then ? Bookies always right??

I don't have that tendency at all. Don't put words in my mouth. At no point have I actually said I want it to be Cunningham.

However there was no need for you to be so over the top and dismissive with your post.

    Interesting.
Genuine question-why don't you rate him as a coach?

Well Rush was appointed C/E which to me was a shock in that particular role however if we follow that trend it would be no surprise to see Cunningham appointed. Again it would be a shock to me simply because he is unproven as head coach however we all have to start somewhere and he has worked under some top coaches.

Nuff said , Powell = Castleford = local , Wane = Wigan = local , Cunningham = St Helens = local , just look at the way local coaches seem to really motivate/schyke their players up , not always BUT Mc Manus must see it that way .

I think firstly he is a miserable sod his motivational skills must be useless with that hangdog expression he always has,he inherited Brown's squad and has never won a really important match ok he won the league leaders shield,(it means nothing sadly) but fell away in the play offs that year, they were awful in both games they played this year,we need a proven winner.

Anderson with KC as assistant would be excellent news.

Yeah, or Anderson in a Director of Rugby role with KC as head coach.

Id be more than happy if this is true and actually happened.

95% sure it'll be Anderson with KC as assistant and wello with some form of coaching role. He was lined up before brown took the job

If they are going to make KC coach I would ask Scully to be his assist. The players have mega respect for him as does just about everyone in the game. Daniel Anderson and KC as assist would be just brilliant.

I dont care where the coach is from so long as he get us playing attractive free flowing rugby and winning silverware. People saying he has to be English is rubbish. You get the best man for the job. It's that simple.

Saints UKIP members have spoken not another one of these bloody foreigners?

I don't care who it is as long as they are up to the job. He doesn't have to pander to our fans with ADD.

Paul Anderson has been shown up this year. He doesn't have much of a clue. NO

Tim Sheens (stevo suggestion) has a poor record for a man with his reputation. Could do a job not sure.

Darryl Powell, done well at Cas but his team chocked in the big games. Not what we need. Plus he is a Leeds man I would rather have a nazi war criminal.

Big Mal, has business commitments so that is a non starter.

Daniel Anderson, the personal reasons why he went home still exist, can't see it.

KC, inexperienced but could be worth a punt, it would keep the momentum going. If he is poor sacking him could be difficult.

Wello, means he would not be a player. So big plus.

Ian Talbot, not had too many mentions. Could be an interesting choice.

David Farleigh, would be a good bet and would be a popular choice.

Others that could be a good call, Stephen Kearney, Anthony Griffin, Matt Parish.
I could agree with you but then we would both be wrong.

My only point to make is that it is to be KC he needs the support of a Director of Rugby like Anderson if poss in the same way Waite has overseen things at Catalan with a young coach.
I am really against the 'giving someone a chance' idea.We are slowly getting back to the top and it needs experience at the helm.

Your reply to my post was pure sarcasm, mine was my opinion of how you seemed to view coaching roles. No harm intended sir.

You're right, it was sarcastic. Your post seems to dismiss the idea of Cunningham and Long completely and the burying our club comment was a bit much. Perhaps GF nerves are getting to us all already and making us tetchy.

Wasn't Anderson helping out with coaching when Royce was sacked? I'm sure I read he was providing a consulting role when Mike Rush was in temporary charge. I also read that he chose to stay at the Griffin during the World Cup rather than Salford Quays, perhaps he still holds a candle for the Saints?
