Any considerations regarding how long the new coach is likely to endure life in South Lancashire will be rightly ignored. The contracts are all fixed term anyway and recent history indicates that most coaches are lucky to see three years in the job.
The Chairman will have a person in mind already and be looking at a 2/3 years contract to secure the man (or woman, Mongolian, Martian et al).
Plenty of thinking for the Chairman. We desperately need stability at the club. The recent cycle of a new coach every one or two years isn't helping us. I would take Powell in a heartbeat and give him a three year contract with the option of a fourth. Can't see it happening though. I think Dennis Betts is a decent shout. Wasn't sure sbout him at first but done an excellent job at Widnes and has served a decent apprenticeship. Somebody who hasn't shown they can do the job (head coach) already shouldn't be considered in my opinion. I would go with either of these.

As Stevo was saying last night Tim Sheens and Mal Meninga might be available/ interested. If not them then Daryl Powell or Paul Anderson
I heard this yesterday but at this point it's only a rumour.
I think this has been on the cards for sometime and may well have been a mutual agreement from early in the season. NB has been instrumental in rebuilding this side with Mr McManus and leaves us in a much healthier state than before he arrived, however I feel he's a square peg in a round hole as far as the dressing room is concerned. Only the Chairman and CEO really know what the plans for the future are and whatever they decide will be in the best interests of the club.
I think this is good and I also think " Roy Litherland and Rogues Gallery " seem to have a bit of an idea.
My post was a reply to "village saints"
I guess you can see it either way in fairness. It's evident to me that this news is not a surprise to the hierarchy at the club and I applaud them for keeping it house until Nathan's Dad had a brain explosion with the Press. I take some comfort in the fact that they probably already know who will be in the box seat next season so let's wait and see. I don't think it will be a surprise.
Isn't there a quote from KC years ago that said he didn't want to be head coach because clubs sack head coaches, and he wanted to stay at Saints forever?
Either that did happen or I've had a really weird dream.
Cunningham and Long?
Jesus wept. Just dig a hole and bury the club.
I do not want another aussie.
