    Default Players of the year

Having today sent in my nominations for the Founder Members player of the year awards, I was wondering where other people's votes would be going for the Player of the Year and Young Player of the year awards.

Player of the year - Roby - Most try assists, most meters and most tackles.
    2. Makinson - top try scorer with outstanding individual efforts
    3. Wellens

Young player of the year - Josh Jones

Very difficult as it's been such a disjointed year, despite our position in the table.

    1. Roby - Mr.Consistent. He gets stick for "not being as good as he used to be" but the stats don't lie. He contributes a ridiculous amount in all but scoring tries and he is simply huge for us.

    2. Walsh - Controversial because he has missed games through injury but his performances have been excellent and he has made a huge difference to us.

    3. Walmsley - Gone under the radar a bit but he has been consistently good for us. Masoe took time to get going, Amor has been injured and LMS has been his usual Jekyll and Hyde self. Walmsley has lead from the front on his own at times.

Young Player - Luke Thompson. I nicknamed him T-Train in gest after his performance away at Wigan and compared his style to Paul Gallen. I'm not saying he will end up anything near as good but I do believe he will become a very important player for us and a potential future captain.

Walmsley 1st, 2nd Makinson, 3rd Roby. Worst player LMS.

For me it has to be James Roby for all reasons stated. You notice a difference when he goes off for a short period (leg injury the other week) and comes back on strapped up. Then Tommy Makinson for a great season with some unbelievable tries in the corner, a willingness to drive the ball out and safety under the high ball. Third is Alex Walmsley, still learning his trade but vital to our go forward. Would you like to try and tackle him?
Young player without any doubt is Luke Thompson. Big strong and uncompromising for one so young and inexperienced. A future great if he stays healthy.

I sent mine in too Lex ,

I went for Makinson and Thompson

10 seconds later I wished I'd voted for Wellens ... But I think Tommy would be a worthy winner .

I would have gone for Jones for young player but I suspect he doesn't qualify for that category any more .

I would go for the following:
    1) Roby - For obvious reasons, he's still our talisman and we don't perform without him
    2) Walsh - Missed at lot of the season but so influencial when he's played and shows what we've been missing with a true No7
    3) Soliola - Another talisman who gives his all every game he plays, willing to take the ball up and never a backwards step

Special mention for Makinson with his ability to score those almost impossible tries, he's taken that mantle away from Ryan Hall this year!

Young Player would be between Thompson & Percival, probably go for Thompson given how tough it is to play prop at a young age.

I think Wellens deserves a lot of credit. I've been very critical in the past but this year he's done a superb job. Roby & Walmsley would probably be my 3 votes.

Certainly deserves a mention in despatches at least.

POY: Wello/Robes , toss a coin to put either those names onto your voting slip.
    YPOY: Percival
