Hard to gauge mate with it only being a friendly. Was a few songs but not what we would normally expect from a full derby match. It seemed a bit warmer inside the ground, especially as it was freezing last night.

On a side note, what the hell have they done to the tannoy system!?

We were in North stand and couldn't hear it properly. Couldn't make out the teams when being read out and when Roby spoke at the end it was just a shambles as I couldn't tell a word he was saying!!

The public address system has been particularly poor since we moved there. I noticed on a few occasions, but not all for some unknown reason, they boosted it last season with extra speakers pitch side. It needs sorting cos its one thing the club can do to help build atmosphere.

Pitch side speakers missing stopped better sound as the PA system will be set up for the available speakers all in place and would alter quality anyway, although it is poor and desperately wants an engineer to sort it!

To me it sounded like the speakers where situated outside the ground. Awful, couldn't hear any of it. Someone needs to get onto saints about it.

If true that wouldn't surprise me. Some chimneys have apparently come off houses in Vincent Street, trees have come down in various places, Nutgrove and Rainhill have lost power, and I'm sure the roof of my house is about to come off! Certainly feels and sounds like it is! And I'm at the bottom of a hill. What it's like where the stadium is I can only guess because it is so much more exposed there.

We have moved to the North Stand this year to give my youngest son some space (he's autistic), what we did notice at the Wigan game was that the steps were wet and slippy plus about fifteen rows of seats were wet too. I went to the Warrington game on Thursday and the end of their stands they have see through plastic cladding, we perhaps need to add this to protect from wind too?

Old image from Warrington to explain what I mean.

Finally, should the concourses could be enclosed too to stop the wind ripping through there, I noticed during the World Cup that Huddersfield had doors on the Brittania Rescue Stand.

Money we don't need to spend at the moment but little improvements that can be added over the years?

Then again we play about 14 games a year there, can't be wet and windy all the time, or can it?
