Can I just point out that Hohaia has signed a 4 year deal and I can't see us (whatever I want to wish for) signing another SO. Unless the club see Lance as a sub hooker or a full back.....but I would prefer TM at fullback longterm.

spoke to someone close to the club about Smith, they were concerned he didn't take the "line on" enough, got the feeling it wasn't mad passionate love.

I share that view but my concern is whether Nathan Brown made that assessment or Eamonn. If it's Brown then fair enough.

Not one Wigan fan that I have spoken to is excited about signing Matty Smith.
(I live in Wigan, all my colleagues + mates are Wigan fans)

If I was a Wigan fan i'd be the same, glad he's chose Wigan over us. Would rather develop Gaskell.

Wigan must have offered him a hell of alot of money with Widnes offering him a massive deal, Saints in for him and Feilden, Leuluai, Finch, Lima leaving.

He's took a lot less of an offer from Wigan than the Widnes deal.

Puff....like magic, something negative about Wigan is suggested and he's here, right on cue (and he knows the contractual terms offered to the player in question, great work RG).

Smith is too slow. Average running game, very good kicking game. Not what we need at this moment in time and won't 'break' a game. A B- signing for Wigan but will offer more to them then he would us.

Unless Wigan raised their offer by 15k in the last 2 weeks, it was 35k

Yes I posted that on a previous thread a few weeks ago, sounds to me like we went back in with an improved offer.

Let's be honest, they seem to be linked with every young English player in RL at the minute.................

Wigan saints salford all equal monetary value, widnes 20k more, agent is concerned that wigan are just using it to scare finch into re-signing.
