The comments are certainly getting a little tiresome! I'm not sure what he hopes to achieve by constantly telling people how he misses his family and how hard it is for him. His choice of career is such that it is something that you have to expect when you first start. He makes a point of saying that money can't buy the happiness or ease the pain of leaving his family at the airport - well what is he doing over here if it isn't for the money? He could earn a living playing in Argentina and get to see his family all he likes.

The comments are nearly as boring as your weekly need to throw in an anti-Tevez post.

He dumped you for City and has gone on to be a major success, proving you personally wrong into the bargain. That is the top and bottom of why you continually keep dragging the issue up.

Please try to deal with it like an adult for once in your life.

Am I never allowed to mention him? He is a mercenary, pure and simple.

Oh and am not sure a solitary FA Cup counts as a major success compared to PL and CL double at Utd.

I think City fans thought he would stay for ever when in fact he has done his customary 2 yrs and run.

Will he ever stay long term at a club??

You are allowed to mention him all you want. Trouble is by mentioning him so much you only go to prove the point how ****ed off you are that he left United for City. In the psychological warfare game, you have 'Lost' stamped all over your head - next to the word 'bitter'

Read it properly young man. The 'success' I talk about as in 'to be a success' refers to the man as an individual. It harks back to when you personally criticised him as a failure due to the low amount of goals he had scored. In two seasons he has knocked in 29 and 23 goals respectively. You tried to convince your readership that he was a failure at City. He has been an unqualified success.

Your ability to make things up to suit your argument is actually unparallalled. Nobody ever thought he'd stay forever. We hoped he'd stay for five years and we certainly hope he'll stay beyond this year. He may or he may not. I think he might be around for a bit longer yet. We'll see. Either way, there'll be no histronics about it like what we see from you. Without him we would not be in the Champions League next year. We possibly wouldn't have ended the long trophy drought either. We have a lot to thank him for - and will.

Possibly not and maybe he is but he's hardly unique in world football in that respect. In his two years for us he's done more than 99% of players have ever done for us. City and West Ham fans thank him for their endeavours for the club. You lot don't. I suppose that sums up the difference between the respective sets of fans.

I'll repeat it, the facts are he is a great player that left Manchester United for Manchester City and you've never quite come to terms with it. It really is time you moved on.

Of course Utd fans were ****ed off as he left to join a hated rival. And yes on a personal level he has done well, a fact I have actually admitted to and that he has proved me wrong.

He just irks me with his constant whinging and moaning about all things English but he has been happy to take astronomical wages for the last 5 yrs.

There are others similar to him but in terms of taking signing on fees, whinging and constant movement of clubs, he is No.1

He has had five clubs in his career. Hardly an outrageous total. Dimitar Berbatov has had the same. George Best had more.

He is only what though, 25? 5 yrs younger than Berbatov and a long way to go before he gets to the age Best was when he retired. God knows how many clubs he will be on by the time he is 30!!

He's 27 I think and his next move will be his last big club before going to Argentina or his last full stop. He won't play for much longer.

I agree with that. He'll move on this Summer or next for Italy or Spain then go back and maybe finish his career back at Boca Juniors. I'll be surprised if he's still in Europe in 3-4 years.

Good Ol Fergie, last minute gazumping of Liverpool to get Jones. Great signing, him and Smalling the future CB pairing with Da Silvas full backs.

I've seen Jones have one good game. I've never seen Henderson have a good game.

Ive seen nothing of Henderson TBH but ive been reading up on him this morning. Apparently everyone was raving about him, he then had a game for Engerlund and went downhill from there !
Ive said before about these prices, if the club want the player enough then he is worth whatever the selling club want for him.

Somebody in the North East must have some serious dirt on Liverpool. That's twice we've been ripped off by teams up there.

Phil Jones is a bit like Rodwell in that he's a CB by trade but can comfortably play midfield - seems to be the way for modern centre backs lately. I think his emergence pretty much put to bed the chances of Rodwell signing at United which will probably hinder Everton as they could have doen with his money.

I watched Jones a bit more carefully during the season after hearing about Uniteds apparent interest in him and thought he looked like a decent prospect. It's good to see us signing top quality english talent and further enhancing teh long term future of the club but it still doesn't address the centre midfield issue that needs sorting out. I'm hopeful that we've got 1 or 2 more irons in the fire so to speak and this will be sorted.

In De Gea and Jones we've though potentially created a back 5 that can go onto become quite special - De Gea, Smalling Jones & the twins have massive potential so i'll look forward to seeing this develop. It does perhaps mean that Wes Browns days are numbered at the club and Sundelrand seems his likely desitination.

With regards to Henderson, we sniffed around mid season and apparently dropped our interest in him. I think Cleverly is probably more suited to us if i'm honest so there's no regret (at the minute) from me in not pushing ahead with that deal.

Ha. If City had signed him, he would be the next big thing. Was outstanding in their last game against us when he was up against Rooney and Hernandez.

If it's all the same with you, I will trust Fergie over you on this one.

No doubt £26m on Milner was a bargain? :-)

Don't you know whatever price united pay for a player it's a bargain but any other team the price they pay is a rip off. Let's not forget utd have never bought a duffer have they.

Of course we have. I can name loads of duds. But anyone who knows their football (clearly not DD on this occasion) knows that he is a very good player.

The fact that Arsenal and Liverpool also wanted him, confirms that.

See what the Blackburn fans are saying on Twitter. They are gutted.

Lets be honest - £16m for Henderson/Jones represent gambles on behalf of both United and Liverpool. The reality is clubs like ours cannot go head to head with City/Chelsea for the big names and the way to combat this is by snapping the players up at this stage. Nobody is to know whether in two years that figure will be a snip of whether it’ll be a major clanger but it is the risk that clubs need to be taking.

There is definite potential in both players but whether they realise this nobody can know at this stage.

5-10 years ago the same players would be sold for next to nothing and you’d hear nothing about the signings, it’s very much a sign of the times.

Exactly. I prefer to listen to the experts. Harry Redknapp just admitted that Spurs were in for him and that Jones is a quality signing and future Eng captain. That's 4 big clubs that were in for him.

Also to perhaps give another view on the recent transfer activity at Manchester United – over the past 12 months we’ve signed the two stand out centre halves who will go into the Euro under 21 championships as first choice. The combined fee for both looks to be in the region of £26/27m.

Sounds a lot but when you consider we paid £29.1m for Rio Ferdinand alone it goes some way to explaining why signing future talent these days is a risky and seemingly expensive risk that could pay off well. If you looked at signing Ferdinand & Terry in their prime you’d be looking at £50m plus.

It also shows that for smaller clubs, developing young talent is something that can be a massive money earner for them and may encourage clubs to put more money into that. If you look at Andy Carroll, Phil Jones, Jordan Henderson & Chris Smalling you have 4 players with I believe less than 5 international appearances to their name but have been sold for approx £77m.

People mocked when we signed Smalling saying that he was over rated, poor at Fulham etc. He has turned out to be an outstanding signing. Since Jones made his debut, he has been talked about as a future great, however the same people will no doubt say we have been ripped off.
