Looking superb. Finally a venue befitting Saddened!'s presence.
can anyone give a definitive answer as to whether the cladding is going round the rest of the stadium before handover, dont fancy being sat in north stand in february with a horizontal force 9 blowing freezing rain down my neck
It might be. they are bricking up to at least where the top of the terraces are. There will also be a covering for the blockwork.
If you look carefully at the steelwork you will see that the steel where the lift and stairs are flat bet where it's bricked it is round and doesnt support adding cladding but, cladding can be stuck to the blockwork.
The blocks in the pics are Celcon or Thermalite blocks, they are only for internal use as they absorb moisture very quickly and as you can judge by the name they have thermal properties so are used only on internal skins, there will be cladding or some external material on the outer skin.
I was just looking at the cam and was thinking wouldn't it be good if they put that cam inside the stadium?
I guess so, but what i mean't was it would be good if we had one inside so we could see the seats being fitted
Also they've put a big piece of the red cladding on aswell.
They cant do a road so close to the stadium, can they? It would be a big health hazard and an eye-saw if they did.
Today's pics
KNOWSLEY ROAD 1890-2010. A part of history soon to be no more...the place that meant so much to so many people. Farewell old lady, forever in our hearts.
