I was listening to an interview on radio Merseyside's try time last night. The interview was with the 'boss' of Langtree. He said the hardest part of the job on the stadium had now been completed with no major hiccups and they were not expecting any more. The pitch was being carefully prepared and would be seeded in the next few days. The build is right on schedule and the keys will be handed over on the 24th October and he doesn't expect it to change.

scrap that the crane is big but not big enough to lift stuff onto roof. It has gone onto phase 2 area.

I was there when it arrived, big crane and what I thought was a giant tranformer, anyway they have fitted two rows of the outer "skin" on the cladding towards the Northwest corner, they are oblong in shape and have been fitted like big tiles, each tile is about 3ft x 18ins. what is suprising is that they are dark grey in colour almost black, wether or not this is like a border and the siver will be above this we will have to wait and see.
The East stand has had some welding done on the two centre columns and what looks like a large entrance has been fitted.

yes I found this detailed plan of the site, no 1 seems to be the main car park for the stadium sponsors directors Sky Sports vehicles maybe, no 2 looks to have three spaces for coaches away tem and academy , and the front one no 3 well again maybe players , sponsors or whatever , next to the number three is the roundabout and it does look like a turning circle rather than a roundabout to give acccess to other roads

Thanks for all the pictures. I must say it's looking great, which is more than can be said for Salfords new ground. I went over Barton bridge yesterday and it looks awful. It's very square and cheap looking and you just don't get that WOW factor like you get driving past ours.

you can sort of see why they put there cam there, to show off the best side. Where as our cam shows off the worst side. Thats why we have so many people taking pics of our stadium, we need the other sides aswell to show off our best side. Am i bragging

You have to compare it to the willows Tbf. I understand what you mean though. I just hope they get bums on seats and I will start going to the reds games again. I wouldnt expect the scroats to smash cars up at Barton.

Well I managed a brief visit to St Helens yesterday and popped by the new ground. It's looking awesome, am so looking forward to getting in there. Be good to see how much more it's progressed when I'm up in a couple of week.

had a look this afternoon, while I was there they where fitting a silver coloured corrugated sheet above the black outer cladding already fitted, it was a full width sheet not small panels, and the corrugation ran horizontaly.

    Default Signage

Does anyone know if there are plans to change the road signs to the new stadium before it opens ? Obviously the existing signs all lead to Knowsley Road.
Also if you approach St.Helens from the south on the M6 the signs take you to J23 at Haydock for St.Helens. This would be better if the signs sent traffic on the M62 to St.Helens to connect to the link road at J7 Rainhill stoops.

You would hope so. I can only guess there is a cost, so we'd only request it once we move in, rather than removing them for this season, and new ones next year.

I presume its done through the highways agency

Really good pics there. Like the second to last one with the LFC sprayed onto the fence.
