Just been down to see if any work has started, nowt.

But, they are erecting a big sign/placard on the new linkway island for the stadium.

It shows the stadium in all its glory.

No they are not, but those do exist of course

I hope you're going to carry on gracing these pages with your photos, which have been very much appreciated, now that you will have more than the Tesco's site to photograph? ;-)

How long have the flats at Greenbank opposite Pizza Hut been demolished and 100ft of bollboard adverts placed up with visions of bars / leisure centres / bowling clubs on the land ? Hoping this doesnt go the same way .........................

Yes under the previous board and that was all they had, NO planning permission NO money, both hardly apply to this does it?
and jeffmeiste2004 , the west point developement is hardly in the same class is it, now even when people see things happening onsite, they STILL look for negatives, as one poster says "its like christmas" lets enjoy whats happening and to be honest i dont give a stuff about any previous boards put up when nothing happened which have nothing to do with THIS , or other developements that have nothing to do with THIS , enjoy the moment , it will come.

What would be good is if Barr Construction could set up a web-cam with a link to it on the new stadium site.

We could keep an eye on demolition and construction then!

Won't happen. May do fixed camera shot every so often. As it is of such interest but not live. No builder in the right mind would do it.

Yes. I wasn't talking about a live stream.

It is not very common for builders to do this on projects, particularly the more high profile ones.

A number of projects I have worked on recently have included such a 'PR' feature.

Underground private sector work at Greenbank, crikey I've never seen anything come in or go out around that derelict area for years ?

I'm normally optimistic about things but regarding Saints, it depends how long you have known what supporting Saints is all about - they have built us up and let us down much much more in the past - either through incompetence, lies, over-exaggeration, ignorance, machievellic or stupidity. Even with the success of recent years and what seems a coherent forward looking Board, it's a cautious habit that's hard to shake off

When the new football grounds at Coventry and Leicester were built, a public viewing platform was set up for people to see into the site.

didn't know you have been on an ARCA course kidder ! but you is right all asbestos is treated the same for disposal, it only takes one fibre to get in the lungs, gestate for say 20-40 years then BUSHO asbestosis...... so they are all as evil as each other.

I know asbestos isnt hard to remove in sheeting as we had a sheet in our garden when we moved in (the same that is on the ug roof) and they came in white suits and wrapped and sealed it and put it in the back of their van. But they will probably put the ones from the ug plant in red skips. And i should imagine (but not sure) when the ban for asbestos came in they would have removed all the bad/damadged asbestos. So this could make it easier this time round.
never easy, what they remove will have to be backfilled with dry clay and compacted at the same time in layers then large stone and then smaller then start ground works, ie drainage services etc and so on.
