This may be a stupid question but why is there a massive gap between the pitch level and the seating?

there are alot of different materials under the top soil, land drain systems etc..... the gorund will be getting built up about 700mm then the will be concrete around the pitch area

Sorry if it's another question already raised but is this mentioned anywhere - also does seeing a few seats make it seem that bit more exciting to everyone else or is that just me?
I've got a bit giddy seeing that too.

White seats with some red writing of some kind would be the way to go.
Whole banks of white seats are not allowed in football or rugby stadiums, as if large sections are not filled then the players and spectators can easily lose sight of the ball against a white background.

What you mean like losing a whole team who are wearing grey shirts.

Anyway I've got to go and check the mini bus, taking a team of burglers to Stockport tomorrow whilst it is empty.

Hey Jase, what's that stuff they are putting around the edge of the roof? Like safety rails.

Wigan are averaging just over 18,000 a game this season.

    Our stadium's capacity is 18,000 i think?
Does anyone actually know whether there is room for expansion?

Would be great if we can fill our stadium on a weekly basis, i'm sure the stadium will get a nickname for the atmosphere the fans generate in it.
With it having no gaps, it is going to be terrific.

Recent posts suggest that 2 corners are not utilised and can be developed to increase the capacity. Not by much I expect. Roof still goes all the way round though. May have been Chris Saint that mentioned it.
It would be good to fill it weekly.

I think one corner is used for the big screen and the other for the scoreboard. I suppoose you could always move the scoreboard though.

    Today's photos

And a pic of the wall that will go round from the East Stand to the back of the North Stand...it should be about 6 ft high when finished

Brilliant pics from today. When you look at the size of the workmen in comparison to the stadium it just makes you realize how big the build is. It looks awesome. Thanks for the pics.

just one comment to those hoping to take pics, the steelwork is expected to be completed in about 3 weeks time, so taking ones of inside the stadium will become more difficult
