Has officially retired from RL today. A great signing for us, extremely unlucky with injuries. Will always remember him as part of the all conquering 2006 side. Thanks for the memories and good luck with whatever you do.

He used to love his pre season training camps abroad

Great player was jc, did the hard yards and had some deft footwork it's a shame about the injuries and I think he should of retired after playing for us.
Fantastic player and never really got the plaudits he deserved.
One of the best i have seen in a Saints shirt!
Great player, top bloke too.Never recovered from that tackle at Wakefield, and fans from certain clubs moaned about Wilkin complaining about the one he got at Cardiff.
also on glorious facebook and twitter !

I think a lot of people, away from this board , underestimated how much we missed him when he was injured. Fantastic forward. Good luck to him.
Did'nt realise he was the victim of a CW....who did it ?
Learned comment from The Don
Before injuries took their toll he was a fantastic player. Best of luck JC.
Forwards win games. The backs decide by how much.
If my shakey memory serves me right (it seldom does) it was at a Leeds game. One of the usual Leeds suspects. Although I think he'd already had a damaging CW at an earlier game and the Leeds one exacerbated it. He also went off long term with a damaged knee.
Now I'm starting to doubt my memory and think I'm confusing him with another player. So many CWs so many bad memories.
A great shame - fantastic in 06 and had he not been cw'd would have made a huge difference to us in 07.
Whoever it was that inflicted the damage - and cws are designed to injure - they should hang their heads.
Burning with optimism's flames.
There was also a shoulder injury sustained at Wakefield away, which i posted print screens of.
Was a horrible looking 'tackle'.
Great player, great signing, great pony tail and his lady was top quality eye fodder, boy was she. He was one of our great signings. I remember meeting him the afternoon after the challenge cup final, it was at some service station on the M6 he was leathered, eyes half shut, stunk of ale, it was fantastic, had his piccie taken with me and was telling jokes. Did I mention his good lady was delicious ?
TOP PLAYER
Jason Cayless, was really quick for a big bloke!! An he was awesome for us
Good Luck in the future Jason!
COME ON YOU SAINTS!!!
The only Saints player I knew socially in recent years. A top bloke and so is his dad. He'll be missed in RL.
Born in St.Helens (Lancashire). Live in Hull. Probably die in Hull if I keep wearing this Red Vee.
No more 500 Mile round trip for home games - moved to Warrington - now that makes more sense!
My profile says ' Waiting for the No 17' ? Don't have a danny what that is all about?!
From what I can remember the original chicken wing was against Wakefield. Cayless then made a comeback game against Leeds in a challenge cup match, got done in another chicken wing tackle by Peacock (who got a nice letter from the RFL to add to the Leeds collection) and his shoulder went again.
A proper prop forward. Best of luck JC.
Met his Dad in Perpignan (sp) a real gent told us how he used to be up all hours putting ice on their injuries for his two boys.
Fantastic signing for the club, cracking bloke and a great player.Such a shame he fell foul of the snide antics of lesser men.Hope he has a long, happy and healthy future ahead and manages to find time to visit us in our new home.I know he would get a great welcome back.

Farewell old friend, you will live long in all our memories.
After KC, JC is the best forward I have seen in the Vee. An absolute monster of a man, but a really top bloke also.
