a few years ago the economic geius that is gordan brown raided private sector pensions to the tune of 6 billion pounds leaving tens of thousands of ordinary working class people upto 25% worse off in retirement than they were expecting, i didnt hear any howls of protest from the tuc or labour mp's when this particulay crime was carried out....party of the working class dont make me laugh. Then we have neil kinnock and his equally odius wife glenys who for years spoke with some vitriol about abolishing the house of lords ...would these be the same pair of hypocrites who now go by the name of baron and lady kinnock and both sit there in ermine, furs and wearing coronets....you couldnt make it up !!
Excellent point, but as previously said, when it only hit the private sector nobody noticed and nobody cared.
The loony left brigade frequently take the moral high ground. They try to convince us that they are out there striking on behalf of the people for the people. Solidaritary, all looking after each other etc.
Truth of the matter is they are no better (or worse) than the Tories. The only time they feel any concern for the nation is when it affects No.1. They couldn't give a rats arse if the rest of the country goes to pot and unemployment peaks at 10 million (ex) private sector workers as long as they get their rises and their pensions, and they don't have to make a single concession.
By all means look after No.1, most of us do, but let's not take the pretence that they are following the age old labour and socialist values because they are not. If they were thinking of the country as a whole, they'd be prepared to take a fraction of the knock that the unfortunate private sector workers had to take a long time ago.
Labour and Tory parties and their voters have been almost one and the same now for years. The old values have gone, it's just that the professional Ricky Tomlinsons can't see anything beyond their own self righteousness.
Everyone is in it for themselves but it's the hypocrisy I cannot stand.
