fall river marksmen acheived the domestic treble in USA in 1930, now thats a treble!!!!!!
I think it does hold some relevance because nowhere does anyone state what treble from what country. The blinkered poster was trying to imply that Utd where the first team to do the treble, so unless we decide what the treble is. I'l lay claim to Liverpool doing a treble long before those upstarts from up the East lancs.

Big day for Chelsea today. United have hit form like they usually do around this time of year and it's important they replicate United's results. It will also make the race become a 2 horse race as Arsenal would be out of it.

It's looking ominous that Liverpool will finish 4th aswell. Spurs, City and Villa dropping points and Liverpool getting results.

I see no reason why LFC won't have eyes on third now. Arsenal's confidence must be shot after the last two results whereas Liverpool have gone on a decent run without many noticing. 7 unbeaten (5 of them wins) with only 1 goal conceded in those 7 whilst beating Villa, Spurs and Everton. Good league form, great defence and doing it without making many headlines. All points to them finishing well IMO.

I can see Liverpool getting an Arsenal backlash though, particularly at the Emirates. They actually played okay against Chelsea for large parts of the game.

But Arsenal generally play well even when they lose. Take the defeats at United and City early on, they were awesome at times in each, but they lack goals and a cutting edge against really good defences.

Say what you like about LFC but 1 goal condeded in 7 league games is some achievement from a team that has been under immense pressure since going out of the CL.

I don't think 3rd or 4th will be sorted till very late on in the season but I can see Liverpool getting one of those 2 spots especially when Torres gets back.

Distubingly, I think Liverpool will go there and get a result and are now clear favourites for the top four.

We were bloody dire again tonight and, when we play them a week on Sunday, I can see it only going one one way and it won't be ours.

Unfortunately, Mancini never got to see our first choice team when he first arrived, now he has, it's too late. I just wish he had consulted me!

Looks like you've got yourselves a bit of a bargain though with Adam Johnson don't you think?

I'll not be surprised to see him heading to South Africa in the summer

Great night of results for City, if we get a result at the Britannia and do the red dippers next week we could have opened a significant gap at a crucial stage of the year.

Good old golum again getting his blue dippers up for a game against a top 4 team. Just wait til they revert to type and roll over against the rags next week, niaive golum is always hopeful of one day filling fergies shoes with his loyalty.

A 4 team play off between the teams finishing 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th in the league for the 4th Champions League spot? Thoughts?

I think it devalues the champions league competition even more than it is now. Why don't they call it' EUFA Halfway Down the League' competition. The winner of the play off would most probably end up in the Europa cup after the league section anyway
