    Default Windows 7

I'm thinking of upgrading but am concerned that I will lose all music, videos etc from my iTunes if I do so. Is this the case or is there a way around it?

There's no problems with losing files because we've got an external hard drive and save all documents to that rather than the C drive.

we're having to back all our pictures/music/films etc on an external hard drive so we can upgrade our laptop to windows 7 (its only 2 months old!).

I'd recommend one. They're about £80 i think and can plug into your PS3 so you could put *whatever* onto your hard drive then plug it into your PS3 and watch it on t'telly

Probably nothing special to some but i was amazed! lol

just move everything onto your external hard drive before upgrading to windows 7, then move everything back once the upgrade is done. Have just got windows 7 myself but havent got round to doing the upgrade yet and this is the tactic im gonna employ.

If it's Vista, you should get a free upgrade to Windows 7.

Surely, being that I use OSX and not that Windows shyte, iTunes only needs to be told where it's library is.

You do this in the preferences menu.

And if all else fails, tell iTunes to organise it's library and then import the root folder which contains all your music. iTunes might object that purchased items are not yours, as it doesn't recognise your new OS but it will give you the oportunity to authorise the purchases by entering your iTunes Store account details.

By the way, having learnt the lesson from experience in 2002, I always have my OS on one HDD and my personal shit on another. If the OS needs re-installing for any reason, your personal shit is still there. Also, if you have a seperate HDD full of porn in a dead computer, you can physically remove it and keep it safe before taking the computer to the repair shop.

    Hope that helps.

It was designed to use a lot less than Vista. Ideally, to work as fast as XP with all the entertainment features of Vista and then some.

As fast as XP you say? Despite XP minimum spec being a fraction of a modern computer, the best they can do is as fast as 2002?

In that case I'm really glad that my windows are made by Pilks and my computers by Apple.

A step back to 2002 is a step forward from Vista.

Ask a friend Jeff. I'm sure a good one will be happy enough to come round and do it, but if you don't ask then for a certain time, they won't do it. That's nerds you see.
