    Default The Gig Thread

Unless I'm going nuts the gig thread has disappeared ?

On that basis we shoud have a new one.

Just secured tickets for Glastonbury 2010, the 40th Anniversary. Only 8 months to wait !!

Upcoming or reviews post your thoughts here.

I thought it had gone when i was looking for it a couple of days ago.

Hey Monday at Manchester Academy 3 tomorrow. Album is OK and at £8 a ticket i thought i'd check it out.

Tickets booked for Paramore at the M.E.N in December.

I normally agree with you on your contemporary pop punk sensibilities, but Hey Monday are nothing more than eye candy. Musically, it is poor, and just a rehashed version of everything else American teens have been spitting out since the turn of the century.

I'd tend to agree with you in general. They don't exactly bring any new type of music to the table and are pretty similar to quite a few other bands. However i quite like the album so for £8 i think it is worth it. I probably wouldn't pay anything more than £15 to see them live.

Mate of mine has been to a lot of gigs and still says that Fleetwod Mac are in the top 3 of the ones he has ever been to. The other 2 being the Rolling Stones at Sheffield and Led Zeppelin at the O2 arena.

    A good compliment me thinks.

Bon Jovi have put their tour dates up - so far they're playing 5 shows at the O2 Arena, from the 7th June, to the 13th June..... which is smack bang in the middle of my exam period. Let's hope I'll have finished by then!!!

Just got back from watching Fleetwood Mac at the MEN.

Got to admit, the quality of musicianship by Linsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood took me totally by surprise. There's so much more to them than what meets the unlearned eye.

    Really enjoyable night.

The Pogues on 13th December and Madness on 15th December, both at the Apollo, bring this years festivities to an end.
