You must be joking! He's after a jolly at the end of his career. Let the Pie Eaters go for him.

Unfortunately it does indeed seem as tho Wigan are looking at the possibility of signing him for 2010, lets hope somebody outbids us

If Wigan do end up signing him, it'd just be bad. Plain and simple. They'd take their signing of over the hill aussies to a new level, didn't think they could!

Don't get me wrong he is a great player but he will be asking a fortune and be using offers like wigans as leverage

this is the problem with super league bringing in over the hill aussies.if wigan sign lockyer,it will hamper the progress of young tomkins,a player with a big future in front of him.thus depriving the international team of much needed talent.

lockyer is only looking to top up his pension,i wouldn't have him at saints

As great as a player Lockyer was, and still is he won't be at his peak at 32 if he does play in SL next season.

Its the Englsh "Darren Lockyer" that SL clubs should be looking to nuture amongst the junior players coming through.

If he had come this year for a season I would have accepted it. Tomkins could have learnt a lot from him but by next season I hope Tomkins is looking to be starting at 6, not still waiting for game time

definately. He is still a class apart in the NRL, and would be by far the best player in Super League, even in 2010. The influence he would have on the youngsters at the club would also be fantastic.

However, I dont think we have the appetite or the money to get into a bidding war with other clubs, and we have other more vital positions to consider first.
