    Default Hotels in London??!?

anybody know any clean/decent priced hotels in London - we are looking for it not to be out of London city centre preferably in zone 1 on the underground map - so pretty central to be honest.

thanks in advance - for any help

i always use lastminute.com and go for the top secret hotels.

this gives you a top hotel with big reductions.

    www.travelstay.com

I used these 3 times last year and never paid more than £50 a night. Plenty of cheap, basic hotels to choose from all over London. The 3 I stayed in were the Belgrove facing Kings Cross station, Romanos in Pimlico and the Rose Court just round the corner from Paddington station. None of them had an awful lot in the way of facilities (though the Rose Court had a bar, and 2 receptionists who seemed pleased to discover I lived in Haydock) but if you're not planning on spending much time in your hotel then you could do a lot worse.

Apex City of London is excellent, usually around £80 per room per night. Near Tower of London.

Staying in an ibis in Londinium this weekend actually. Decent hotels I have found in the past. Infact the worst one I ever stayed in was actually in FRANCE, it was shat and dirty and stank, yet the UK ones allways seem mint and perfect for a discernign gent like me.

I stayed in the Travelodge Farringdon last night, 10 minute walk from Kings Cross, with its own bar.

Double ensuite booked in advance for £29 per room. They have a couple of other hotels nearby.

    Nothing fancy but good vfm.

We've been looking at that but we missed a cheap deal it had on there

We still will probably book there as it seems central and a decent looking hotel.

Think I got it for £69pn Wembley weekend.

If not I recommend the APEX, 5 Star quality for about £85 a night per room.

Does anyone know a cheap way of getting train tickets to London?

Thinking of going in April and cheapest ones coming out at £60 each. They say that all the cheap singles have been sold but am still surprised that booking 2 months in advance is so expensive.

Would be Fri to Sun. Anyone any knowledge or previous experience?

keep waiting and checking, I went for a weekend in January and initally we got quotes of £60ish but about 2 months before we manage to get return for £22 each - but only going at certain times.
