Have we ever played well in rain?

1999 Grand Final, Bradford 6 - Saints 8, teaming down and we played to the conditions

2001 CC Final at Twidkenham. Again, against Bradford. Again we adapted our game to the conditions better than they did.

No, correct choice to tap the ball. Why kick when you are more than 2 try's down?

But to win the game even if we had kicked the 2 points we would have still had to score twice more. (converted try and drop goal).

Plus with the incosistent Longy kicking goals it would have to have been bang under the sticks.

It was 24-16! Kick the pen and its 24-18, we'd then have had ten minutes to try and score a try to take it into extra time. It was a no brainer, I was screaming for the 2, as I was at 6-0 up.

Sorry but it still boils down imo to captaincy on the field. We lost that game imo with a lack of composure. The game was a lottery. The Leeds fans near where I was sitting were delighted it was ****ing down before the game.Their opinion was they would get beaten well in dry conditions.

everything is easier in hindsight - had we scored a try from that penalty, the 2 points would never be discussed, we didnt so it becomes an issue.

of course it would have been better to go into the last 10 minutes only 6 points down and needing to score 1 try, and Leeds may have started to wobble if we started to increase the pressure on them.

I would have gone for it, but I can understand why they didnt.

Spot on. It was ridiculous arrogance or crass stupidity to try and go for two tries when one would have done us if we had got that kick. Complete tactical ineptitude.

i thought we were on about the penalty early in the 1st half when we were 6 - 0 up. to go 8 - 0 up. worked 2 weeks ago.
