It was £10 million to start with but the north west quango thingy provided over £4 million, meaning that the Council's contribution was subsequently lowered.

I think they are also upgrading the two multi-storey carparks as well aren't they and providing security for match nights?

They are recieving a big chunk of land back to develop where Tesco now stands.

Lets just hope the abolishment of the NWDA (which both parties have promised to do no matter who gets in at the next election)wont effect the money pledged.

    It shouldn't but.......

Always thought that land would developed into a new Debenhams type shopping centre like the one recently built in Warrington?

It looks like the full and final plans have been posted on the St.Helens council website.

Thanks to Doghead for spotting this, and putting them on RLFANS.

Here they are for redvee peeps. The pics should answer peoples questions re terracing etc

    This shows overall stadium layout:

    http://212.248.225.150:8080/portal/s...ageName=140163

This shows the North and South elevations, which is in laymens terms the main stand and the other seated stand opposite. This shows what the stands will look like and be made of. Nice to see plenty of glass being used.

    http://212.248.225.150:8080/portal/s...ageName=137378

The east & west elevations which show the two terraces. The west has a capacity of 3800 standing and the East 3940 standing.
A video wall is depicted between the West and north stands (eg sky big screen). The scoreboard will be on the corner of North and East stands.

Of note in the pics is the cafe bar, the large community space, and combined club shop and museum.
The club have also built in quite a few executive boxes and also a main boardroom box.
The main function room on match days will be split in two with a players lounge and a seperate function room. For which total capacity will be 470 people when the two are combined together via moveable walls

Are you not aware that as part of planning, they have to take into account possible terrorist risk.

With the proposed stadium being close to Liverpool airport flightpaths, its obviously been decided via a risk assessment, that it will be necessary to provide some form of provision for shooting down aircraft. This would most likely occur in the event of a terrorist or group of terrorists taking control of an aircraft and deciding to crash it onto the future home of Saints.

One would expect a static Rapier system would be the most likely solution to be implemented.

Unless they have negotiated a new contract since I left, the lease on warehouse 10, as it is known, is up this year. Talking to one of their employees before christmas I learned that they had taken a short term contract in one of warehouses in your black section. I do know they were on about buying part of the warehouses on Reginald Road Estate

These new and I should imagine final plans tell me that the "horse trading" between Langtree and the Saints with the various building firms that tendered for the job is over, and that a firm has been choosen to develope the site.
Overall the changes that I have spotted give the main stand a little more flexability to change things around depending on wether there is a game on or not.
The Cafe Bar should prove a success with the Tesco shoppers.

Was listening to the chief exec on the radio the other night. IIRC he basically said that they are expecting to decide who is going to build the thing by the end of this month, the build will commence in March and 14 months would be the 'worst case', hopefully therefore ready in May 2011. There is nothing definite regards games on the road yet as if the stadium is done say March/April they could look as putting all away games in early

Link is here if anyone's interested, go to about 27 mins in
