I find it incredulous that anyone voted for KC in this poll (especially since there are so many excellent candidates to pick from). As a coach, what on earth did he bring to us?

I would think Holbook took over a team performing poorly and low in confidence which gives him the edge. It will be interesting to see how the team performs next year with am very similar squad.
I think the KC one and possibly the Potter one were people pressing the wrong button
How anyone thinks Anderson isn’t number one is beyond me. Some forget the attacking rugby we played under him as well as the immense shifts in defence we put in. He took a team who were at times inconsistent and turned them into world beaters with an intense focus on winning and winning alone.

I always felt that Sinfield was the difference in those Grand Final’s. Obviously a long time ago now but it always seemed to be chucking it down and we never quite seemed to be able to get out of our own half for long enough. Always felt we possibly lacked a bit of pace out-wide and he just kicked us to death. Quite a few of those outside backs were coming to end of their careers.
I might be dreaming this up but I remember an ex player tell me once that Anderson just used to let the players get on with it at training because they were so good. He would just sit supping brews. He was more a man manager than a coach.
I'll ask a mate who I think was with me at the time and report back. Are you talking about something that was in the press at the time or an actual player telling you to your face over a pint?
Also if by that you think I'm saying Anderson was a poor coach that's not the case, from what I remember the player wasn't saying it was a bad thing. It was a perfect fit for them.
Ha ha no probs mate. I've held onto that post all through this thread (and other similar ones) I was unsure of posting it because of how people might respond to it. It was after a few beers a while back but the player wasn't saying that it was bad, it was like he knew how to get the best out of them by also letting them figure things out themselves. Obviously he's not just sat there drinking cups of coffee every day, it was probably told like that to make the story sound better.
I know Leon Pryce rates Anderson as the best coach he ever played under 'by a country mile'. A tweet of his that caught my eye a while back.
Millward was the most fun
Anderson had an incredible squad and season in 2006
History though will show that Holbrook came in and turned the tide for us. With some iffy succession planning, dodgy signings and the failed KC era we were going nowhere fast and the club was at times alienating itself from the fans. Thankfully he has done a great job turning it round, got a trophy he deserved and leaves us in a much better place.
Been impressed as well with how he has got the best out of some of the players who were below average under KC
I agree with that.
Apologies if it's been posted elsewhere but this is a great watch

All I can say is thanks for everything, so many people have fallen back in love with the game since you've been here including myself.
This grand final win was the best for me. Sheer relief
