Anybody got any ideas on a good place for fans to get together in Manchester centre for a couple of sharpeners around lunchtime? There are a few spots near OT but wasn't thinking of heading that way until about 4ish.

When i last went with a few others in 2014 we ended up staying in and around media city and in the dockyard i believe it was called. From there only a small walk to the ground as well
drinking in the media city will burn a few holes in your wallet. In Manchester I tend to like Sinclairs/Old Wellington on Shambles Square.
Sinclair’s Oyster Bar. Small inside but big outside area. Witherspoons Deansgate massive inside. Tom Sawyers Peveril of The Peak loads of bars round Spinning Fields some more expensive than others Oasthouse.
Railway club ,booming and brilliant family atmosphere , https://www.stretfordrailwayclub.co.uk/
Anyone ever tried Altrincham market , I fancy trying that.
Heading Oxford Road way from two, few decent bars and eateries that way
Someone else mentioned Altricham Market. I'm going to go and have a look in a few weeks when we're child free. I'm not overly keen on Manc boozers however I do like that Albert's Schloss place and there's a Armenian Taverna close by that's also nice for a bit of food and a few beers, also the Armenian brandy is surprisingly good.
Alty Market is in Alty. So a bit out. Its nice but i've never once got a seat in there.
They have a larger branch in the City Centre;

I'm starting off in Ancoats then heading down to Portland St / Oxford Road end for a few. There is a spoons down there called The Paramount which will be busy I imagine.
Then i'll be looking for a golden goose. I mean a Betfred Cab.

It's looking like my pre-match drinking buddy might be out of action so I'll probably be getting the train in and making my way to the ground at a leisurely pace via one or two watering holes to soak up the atmosphere. Any recommendations on proper old boozers that do a good pint of real ale gratefully received.
It's not exactly a 'proper old boozer', but this is worth a visit...http://www.beatnikzrepublic.com/bar. I'm hoping to pop in there at some point.
For a 'proper old boozer', try The Circus Tavern in Poland Street. Not for the beer, which would be bog standard, but for the bar. Probably the smallest in the UK! The pub itself isn't much bigger. Like drinking in a small terrace house.
Having my first GF weekend beer in Manchester right now!
Gas Works, near Home.
Cheers everyone fingers crossed for a Champion weekend!
Stay Safe, say hello.
