Look who got Latin lessons in school.

I dont care for your large, yellowish, flat cat. Nor do i care for your quotes for Persius.

This festive seasons is Christmas though not Xmas. Oh and yes, i am aware of other religious celebrations. I just hate the use of the term Xmas. Sounds like a disease.

If you are that way inclined, then all I have to say is:-

Original thread concerned Christmas I believe.I was taught Latin long ago by "Kipper","Flash" and "Ned Naish"(who some of you may remember with varying degrees of affection) though I remember all too little I am sorry to say despite their best efforts as my continuing education diversified into other areas.
My favourite quotation came to me much later from the pen of Ernest Dowson and bears repeating at this or any other season:
"Vitae summa brevis spem nos vetat incohare longam";each word of which deserves a capital letter as it is the title of a short but immensely thought-provoking poem concerning the ephemeral nature of our corporeal existence.
