Three gentlemen spend the night in a hotel prone to fires, the first is an engineer, the second is a physicist and the last is a mathematician.
The three gentlemen have rooms in different locations of the hotel.
At midnight the engineer awoken by the smell of smoke he leaps from his bed and goes out his room and locates a fire down the corridor! He then looks in to opposite direction and locates the fire hose he then gets the fire hose and then terns the fire hose on and points it at the fire and puts it out and returns the equipment and returns to bed.
At 1am the physicist is woken up by the smell of smoke he leaps from his bed and goes out his room and locates a fire down the corridor! He then looks in to opposite direction and locates the fire hose he then gets a pad of paper and a pencil from his room, then calculate the required angle and estimated force that will be coming from the fire hose and then gets the fire hose and then terns the fire hose on and points it at the fire at the estimated angle and puts it out and returns the equipment and returns to bed.
At 2 am the mathematician is woken up by the smell of smoke he leaps from his bed and goes out his room and locates a fire down the corridor! He then looks in to opposite direction and locates the fire hose and says "ahaaa there is a solution" and returned to bed.
