We need to stop making excuses----excuses are for loosers who try to justify why they are not good enough!!!!

I agree, but to say the lads look tired is pathetic. If you wish to scale new heights, win every trophy you need mental toughness.Tiredness is no excuse...just an easy kop out. I some times feel tired, but I do go to work.

Answer this ... since when is 3 trophies in a season not good enough ?, you can tell Saints had been tiring for weeks leading up to the playoffs.

FFS People. Lets get our perspective right.

This is sport. One team has to win, one team has to lose. Last night the Final was won quite rightly by the better team on the night. End of.

Yes, it hurts to lose. I've been there. I saw the 27-0 Cup Final defeat which was a performance far far worse than last night's. But someone has to lose. No one team has a divine right to win, in Rugby League or in any other sport.

And we have won three trophies this season - six on the trot. The end of that run was bound to come to an end at some stage.

Now we have to look forward to next season. OK, so the nucleus of the team may be aging, but we already have the established youngsters of Roby and Graham, and there's Clough, Eastmond, Smith, Tyrer, Hargreaves etc to add to the mix.

So what you are saying is that if you win all before you feeling tired is excuseable going into the biggest game of the year?. We are talking about the pinnacle of a player's career. We had two weeks off, Leeds had one. Surely, we should be looking at the coaching systems if the players are looking tired for the biggest game of their careers.

Perhaps that two weeks off was the trouble we were not mentally fired up for it

I worried that, and the fact that, lets be honest they were playing quite poorly running up to the final.

I was worried at 4pm when i drove past the team bus on the M62, strange preperation for the biggest match of the season.

i honestly said at the beginning of the week that if longy plays we will get beat - and looked what happened

im not blaming longy for the defeat (far from it) but was he actually 100% fit??

DA played him for the "big name" instead of matty smith and the plan backfired big time.

also dropping cloughy??? im not saying that these 2 would have won us the game, but who knows?

there was just no get up and go last night, and it was so disapointing for them to play so bad in the biggest game of the year

So maybe things would have been different had DA and Maurie sat at the back of the coach :???:

Perhaps they should have come by helicopter :D

Don't think Fas likes coaches, he shot off the bus as soon as the doors opened.

Maybe thats why i wasn't as vocally active as usual, because i sat near the back of the coach instead of my usual place nearer the front of the coach :(

Oh the guilt of being at fault for Saints losing will forever live with me :( ;)

Long was our best player on saturday. Would matty smith had that piece of brilliance which sean gave us for our 1st try I doubt it.

Was'nt it james roby that started that piece of brilliance and matty smith in time will be in a class of his own with game play, better to play an inform player (matty smith) rather than 80% fit sean long!

If you were smart enough i was not aiming that insult at "saintsdavid". I was naming it at others who think they know everything when their being arrogant. There are some good guys on here and some bad guys. Im not here to be loved im here to make an opinion and if people dont like my opinions dont get involved in a fight make up your own fecking opinion.
Onto my opinion which got saintsdavid pretty animated, you pick players on form. Maurie was cleary not fit so why slect him when weve got enough cover like Paul Clough and bryn Hargreaves on the sideline. Cayless hasnt been the same since his mother died unfortunatley and probably would had been better staying with his family back home which must had been a real tough time. Mike Bennett has been ordinary all season apart from a couple of games.

It could be worse he could have sent a complaint by email to the admin, calling a person some very rude names, not realising that the person he was calling those names is also on the admin team and would have received that complaint himself. :o lol

We targeted 2 games at the end of July and one 4 weeks later.

Leeds targeted 2 games in October.

We run out of gas basically.
