Friendlies over with now and it's down to the nitty gritty with round 1, was wondering what team you would like to see kick off the campaign.

Well yeah plenty, in fairness they've asked what team we want to see in the first league games of the season. Not pointless really - my only point would be this is covered on another thread I believe but that's not a biggie

I think offering an opinion on team selection in the OP would have been preferable !

Decent bench whichever way you look at it.
I'll settle for no injuries after this one - particulalry from Perry or Wheeler!

I was tempted to start Laffranchi but I get the impression we'd get more impact from the bench from LMS/Laf than from Perry so it was a choice between those to start alongside Perry. I then thought LMS will probably do more minutes than laffranchi so chose him to start. There's logic there somewhere! ha

I hope we have an injury free season, but I'd be surprised to see Flannery or Wheeler having a run of games without either getting injured. Im hoping Paul Clough will start more games as his work rate is top notch and he never lets us down.

Not that pointless! now people have had chance to see the players train and play in 2 games it was a question on who they wanted to see start the first game I am wondering what is pointless about it ( apart from your Flippant comment) flippant means Disrespectful, shallow like I'm being there

I'm not sure what our best team is yet, but I reckon Royce may go with this (judging by his comments re. squad rotation and the likes of Perry and Flannery needing games early doors):

Makinson
Gardner
Wheeler
Meli
Foster
Lomax
Hohaia
LMS
Roby
Laffranchi
Soliola
Wilkin
Flanagan

Flannery
Perry
Clough
Gaskell

Dixon and Ashe to miss out.

Apologies old chap, I misunderstood your post. Now that you have explained what you mean then it is a very valid question. No need for the English lesson, I'm fully au fait with the meanIng of the word flippant.

The team that I think will play:

Makinson
Gardner
Wheeler
Meli
Foster

Hohaia
Lomax

Perry
Roby
LMS
Wilkin
Soliola
Laffranchi

Flannery (Although I'd rather see Dixon who I think has improved so much)
Flanagan
Clough
Gaskell

I'd see Laffranchi spelling in the front row as the game goes on, I can see him playing that 13 role as TP did last year.

Soliola could also be spelled in the front row whilst we have no TP, impressed against KR there.

I'd rather see Dixon in instead of Flannery, he's improved so much under Royce I think. Can't see Royce dropping Flannery though.
