For anyone thinking of staying over for Saints 1st match at London, Travelodge rooms at Twickenham are just£19.50 for up to 4 people. The price yesterday was £15 and the day before £12. The price is the same for Friday or Saturday. It seems like you might need to get it booked now if you're interested.

This is a brand new hotel a 1/2 mile from the ground.

One tip - if you want to book more than 1 room, then book them individually as the price of the 2nd room shoots up to £25 if booked together !!

Another alternative is staying at the Croydon Central Travelodge. £49 per night (Fri & Sat).
5 mins walk to East Croydon Station.
Approx 40 mins to Twickenham Station (1 change at Clapham Junction) £3.60 each way or £6.50 return
Alternatively, purchase an All day pass Zones (1-6) (Trains & Underground) for £8.50 and then use it before/after the match to explore Central London and surrounding areas.
Trains from London Victoria or London Bridge to East Croydon are plentiful 24/7.

For breakfast, use the local Wetherspoons (The George (http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/home/pubs/the-george)) down the road. Much cheaper than the Travelodge one.

Apart from staying at the Travelodge (staying at son's house in Croydon), I will be using the above travel arrangements to the Stoop.

HTH.

P.S. If you are travelling down by car, the Central Croydon Travelodge does not have it's own car park (neither does Twickenham). There are several car parks nearby.
Check Travelodge (http://www2.travelodge.co.uk/search_and_book/parking_facilities.php?hotel_id=322) site for details.

We always use the St. Giles at Feltham. It's ideal, the station is a two minute walk and is about four stops to Twickenham (or if there's four of you get a taxi)Tthere are a few pubs around. It's listed as St Giles Hotel Heathrow.

That looks good. £50 per night. £4 return on the train (Feltham to Twickenham)
Better get a taxi though! Must me some work happening on that weekend (4-5 Feb) "All or part of this journey will be made by bus."

My advice as a West London resident would be stay somewhere nice!

The Ealing travellodge jas been open less than a year and has rooms on the saturday for 55 quid.

Getting to the stoop is fairly easy - walk to ealing broadway and get the 65 bus to Richmond and the Stoop isnt far from Richmond.

You can then have a night out in Ealing which has lots of good restaurants and pubs. feltham is a dump.

The Friday night at Twickenham is back down to £15.

Be quick if you just want the 1 night.
